Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Baca.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I spent my teenage years overcoming complicated skin disorders and persevering through immense suffering from food and cosmetic allergies, I jumped from doctor to doctor with no immediate solution in sight. Curiosity and determination to solve my problem propelled me on a lifelong passion for the chemistry of skincare. I began by researching dermatology and chemistry at a young age, while working alongside dermatologists and plastic surgeons. By age 21, I had already had my first child and opened my own spa, which quickly grew from 2 to 50 employees and expanded to locations in Ohio and California.

My salons stood out because I offered customized solutions to my client’s skincare problems. I used my chemistry and beauty knowledge to create serums tailored to each of my client’s unique conditions—and soon, celebrities were seeking my advice for their customized skincare routine. My work quickly elevated me into an icon in the beauty industry and people appreciated my advanced scientific approach to skincare. However, I wasn’t willing to rest on my laurels and aspired to create a revolutionary product which met the specialized skincare needs of every individual. I wanted to create something that minimized the time spent on a beauty regimen and delivered MORE superior results. After 20 years of testing and research I developed an all-in-one product – Overdose™ Face Serum – that corrects and enhances all skin types.

Has it been a smooth road?

His addiction impacted our lives and even affected the financial resources of my businesses. I soon found myself a single mom—with no other option, but to reinvent myself and career.

However, overcoming such struggles led me to understand a fundamental truth – that beauty and tragedy often intertwine. I named my product Overdose™ to illustrate my own life journey, and prove that any person has the ability to overcome life’s challenges. When faced with an uncertain future, I like to compete and I like to win. It’s been a very long road to create Overdose™ Face Serum. As an entrepreneur, I have the determination and discipline to see it through, even if I am the last one standing.

Healthy skin is not only a core segment of our health, but a reflection of who we are as individuals—and it’s the first thing we present to the world. Your face is what people will remember.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least about our city?
I love that LA is a mecca of entrepreneurs. I am constantly surrounded by like-minded individuals which is both amazing and inspiring. Los Angeles is filled with health-conscious people, which is totally my niche. And of course, nothing can compare to Southern California weather. Most importantly, I am happy that that I found love here!

Dislikes? I’m not sure if there are any drawbacks to living in Los Angeles, except for the traffic.
