Meet Hollywood Photographer: Chad Finley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Finley.

Chad, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was always interested in the arts as a child. I played instruments, sketched, danced, etc. I knew there was passion there just not sure exactly which field. I went on to college and majored in Graphic Design. I ended up choosing Photographer as my minor, thinking it would be an easy “A”. I wasn’t that invested in photography at first but once it came to shooting our own concepts that’s when I noticed I had a strong passion for photography; especially when it came to shooting beauty and fashion images. After graduating, I moved to Atlanta and I got a job working for the DoD but continued to so photography on the side. The more I dug into the field the more I fell in love with photography. I eventually left my full-time job to pursue photography. My clientele grew and I started networking and making relationships with magazines and individuals who work in the entertainment industry. I eventually met someone who would fly me to LA for shoots. I absolutely loved working in LA the times I went and I realized how much potential for growth there could be for me in LA. So I started a plan to move and in 2012 I finally made the move to LA.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, not at all. Some struggles were putting together a team of people to work with, initially getting my name out there and generating consistent business.

What were you like growing up?
Quiet, rather shy, but at the same time ambitious, creative and willing to try new things.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Summer camps.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m looking forward into getting more into directing motion pictures and diving more into art directing.
