Meet Giovanni Longo of Flood Brothers Plumbing in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanni Longo.

Giovanni, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Coming from an Italian family that was in the plumbing business back in the old country and as a third generation plumber myself, you could say I have water running through my veins?

After 12 years of working for other plumbing contractors here in LA, I decided I wanted to build my own shop and do things my own way. In a business that is notorious for sales quotas and making a quick buck, I wanted to differentiate myself by providing first class, quality workmanship, with a fair upfront pricing model that was honest above all. So Flood Brothers Plumbing was born in Studio City as a one-stop shop for all plumbing, rooter and water damage restoration needs, whose singular focus, to this da,y is on customer satisfaction and integrity, because at the end of the day we fully realize that our clients are basically families just like ours.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing beyond the typical growing pains all businesses go through that are lucky to be successful out of the box and grow rapidly even in a highly competitive environment This said, we have been blessed overall with the good fortune of having been able to adapt and change rapidly to the realities of the market.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Flood Brothers Plumbing story. Tell us more about the business.
As licensed plumbing contractors we cover all aspects of residential and commercial plumbing. We do however hold certifications for water damage restoration and mold mitigation which is a meaningful part of our book of business, which is why we are called FLOOD BROTHERS.

If I had to identify a speciality among everything we do I would say that clearing, repairing and repiping of sewer lines for both residential and commercial projects seems to be the lion share of what we do, but we also have a robust business in other areas, including water and gas pipe replacement and water damage remediation.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
In regards to luck and business… I come form the school of luck being nothing more than opportunity meeting hard work and preparation. I have focused my career on the latter two.
