Meet Gina Wade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Wade.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Gina Wade Creative in 2007. I was having a hard time finding challenges in my full time, in-house jobs…so I thought that I would just take control and work for myself so there wouldn’t be a limit set on what I could do.

I have had the company for 13 years…and I am so proud of our growth and expansion each and every year. I truly believe that I am in this place today because of hard work, strong relationships and strategy. I have been so passionate about this business and the possibilities of the projects we could be working on…it has always made me push myself harder and have faith that I could attain my goals.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have definitely had challenges along the way…as any business does. But, we learn more from the struggles than the successes. Any time there has been a tough situation, my team has survived it and it just makes us stronger.

Growing a business is always a learning experience…the things that I faced in year one are very different than the things in year thirteen. But, I think you lead with grace, thoughtfulness and as little ego as possible. You have to see things for what they are, let go of anything that doesn’t matter and always keep things moving forward.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Gina Wade Creative – what should we know?
My company is called Gina Wade Creative. We are an event design & production company that also represents venues to increase their exposure and sales in events. We are known for our style & aesthetic, creating beautiful and interactive environments and making things as easy as possible for our clients.

I am proud of many things about my business. I am proud that I started it on my own and how much it has grown over 13 years. I am proud to be working with incredible, collaborative clients who have been so supportive of me throughout the years. I am proud of my team…watching them grow along with the company has been an incredible experience. As a boutique firm, we are small but mighty. We have taken on huge projects with short lead times and always delivered exactly what the clients wanted. We always go the extra mile and push ourselves to go above and beyond for our clients and our vendors.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I will always be inspired by and thankful for my parents. My father has owned his own business since he was 19 years old and has been an incredible example of hard work and perseverance to me. My mother is strong, kind and loving. They have always supported me & believed in me. I never remember being made to feel that anything was impossible for me. They truly raised me to feel that I could do anything.

My husband, BJ, has always been a huge support every step of the way. He accepts me for exactly who I am and has always done anything he could to support my journey. He is a true partner in life, business and is there any time I need him.

Marcus Pimentel is the Director of Events for GWC and was my first employee. He is the most hard-working and loyal person that I know. He is my right hand on every project that we have worked on at GWC…and I am so grateful to have him as a part of the company.

Liz Treat is my soul sister….I have always called her that because “best friend” doesn’t seem to sum her up. She knows me better than anyone. She always has my back & she always understands me in a way that nobody else does.
