Meet Fouad Georges of Fouxx.com in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fouad Georges.

Fouad, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started with a dream, with hope and a goal. A dream to make the Arab culture known for its magical beauty and the talents arousing from it.  A hope that Arab designers and their creations become a part of everyone’s top of mind when shopping for something unique. A goal to succeed and be able to give back to our region through supporting local designers and to the USA through our clientele.

When I first moved to the USA, I really wanted to try to change the way people perceived or prejudged our region because of the news they watch or hear. I also wanted to introduce our oriental culture and its magic to people who have not had the chance to visit or have not been exposed to it.

Coming from Lebanon and having spent most of my life in the Middle East, I became a strong advocate of its beauty, culture, art, and history. I have always seen the region as the geography where all cultures meet, diversity is celebrated, tradition and modernity coexist serenely, marking a new era in the world of fashion, decor, architecture, and lifestyle and giving the opportunity to new talents, artists and entrepreneurs to unleash their potential.

The Arab World has an incredible history of diversity and culture. Today, the region introduces a new generation of more daring, contemporary and unique designers, artists and creators, who appeal to broader audiences and have the capacity to make global inroads in an era where design and creativity travel far beyond the geographical boundaries.

At the same time, East and West are more intrigued by new creative fashion/design approaches, especially ones orientated from places with strong local cultures and “historic geometry.”

Therefore, I decided what better way to achieve my goal than to develop a new platform for the Arab designers and talents to tell their story to the world, share their creations and portray some of the hidden inspiring colors of the Middle East. This is how Fouxx.com was born, and a Middle Eastern creative story began…

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a wonderful road I would say in its smoothness and roughness. I started working on Fouxx.com in October 2016 and launched on November 17, 2017.

Everything at Fouxx.com has been handmade (like most of our designers’ creations :)). It is self-owned and self-managed. Most of the work for the website creation and design, product selection and buying, contracts, accounting, marketing, etc. were and have all been handled by myself.

Being self-sufficient is definitely a great way to learn and have control over all the elements in your business, but at the same time it can slow things down.

I have had to compromise on certain elements to prioritize others, and that has been a bit of struggle when I am so passionate about fouxx.com and want to do everything possible to spread the word.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fouxx.com – what should we know?
Fouxx.com is an online shop that introduces the American market to a curated selection of designer products and artistic creations originating from the Arab world.

Fouxx.com offers an entry point for Middle Eastern designers to extend their footprint in the USA by showcasing their creations and sharing their story.

We are known for our unique products that are all handmade to the highest quality standard. Products, that by purchasing any of them, you carry a part of a culture and support a designer and local manufacturing in the region.

A lot of our designers work with communities and associations which we support by purchasing their creations, such as empowering women in the workforce, preserving craftsmanship, cancer awareness, youth motivation and more.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Everyone who believed in Fouxx.com, who supported whether in actions or in words deserves credit. From my family to friends, to the people I worked with and of course all of our clients. A huge thank you to all!
