Fancy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my career first as a model, then I transitioned into doing commercials which is still sort of like modeling but also acting as well. Being in a creative industry you pick up on things you enjoy besides the main job you are there for sometimes so for me jewelry, fashion and design was something I loved seeing. As I was working in front of the camera, behind the scenes I enjoyed the production of the pieces I would wear. Specifically, jewelry was something I was obsessed with as well as randomly being obsessed with astrology growing up I decided to put two of my loves together jewelry and astrology and last year, I launched my store called Zodiacaa.
Zodiacaa is a jewelry and accessories store for all things zodiac and astrology signs. It’s a store for everyone that has a zodiac sign which is everybody. It started as a jewelry brand first however my intention from the beginning was to expand my store into apparel and accessories. So after one for year into the business I launched Zodiac sign apparel, iPhone cases, laptop cases, phone grips, T-shirts, etc. The store now has everything you need to show off your zodiac sign stylishly. Zodiacaa is everyone’s one stop shop for Zodiac jewelry and accessories.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an entrepreneur, there are definitely ups and downs especially because I have chosen a lifestyle that’s so unpredictable, But what is not unpredictable is challenges that will always come so it’s just me learning daily how to face them while still growing as a person and the business. Some struggles I had was time management when it came to how many hours invested in my business I would put in a day while going through a very sad time in my life my mom was diagnosed with cancer so a lot of me building my business was during the time of trying to build her spirits and health back up. She was my number one supporter unfortunately she passed away a few months ago but her being able to see the day that I launched, for her to see the sales that I was getting that was putting a smile on both of our faces was beautiful and I know she was very proud of me and will still be proud of me today as I have now grown my company so much more since then.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Zodiacaa – what should we know?
In the most recent months, so much has happened for me. I got the opportunity to partner with one of the biggest technology companies in the world INTEL and HP. They wanted to do a story about me as an entrepreneur and showcase it to the world to show that you can be more than one thing and be successful. We shot a campaign that showcased me as a model designer, teacher, and go-getter the campaign was called #MoreThan. That campaign really changed my business and my life. It was such an honor to be recognized by such a large company. My mom knew about the process I had to go through to get that partnership, It was a few days after she passed away I got the call that I was selected to be an Intel partner sadly she never got to see me sign the deal but I’m sure she was watching the campaign from above.

God Almighty gets all credit for where I am today. My mom, Geneva (sister) as well as my amazing boyfriend. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t think Zodiacaa would be where it is and be headed to where it’s going and that’s to the sky! I’m beyond grateful as well to friends who have supported and shared my store with anyone. Being entrepreneur can get lonely sometimes so my small circle of people keeps me sane and inspired to keep going. I’m grateful for the growth and process of my business so far it gives me so much joy because it’s not just work for me it’s my passion, I’m truly living my dreams.
