Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Mastopietro and Michael Benatar.
Erin and Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We created Dope Dog because of the issues our own dogs faced. Our dog James’ was suffering from joint pain after 2 ACL surgeries. We were looking for alternative to having him on prescription pills for the rest of his life.
With no holistic products on the market to help James’ post-surgery pain we saw a need to bring a quality wellness product line for dogs to life. Between this realization and discovering the benefits of CBD in our own personal use, Dope Dog was born!
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not! Nothing worthwhile is ever 100% smooth sailing! Many of the challenges we face are related to the nature of our product since all Dope Dog products contain hemp-derived CBD as their active ingredient. With the laws and regulations always changes, it is tough to navigate the red tape that is common in the cannabis industry.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Dope Dog story. Tell us more about the business.
Every Dope Dog product is thoughtfully designed for dogs with the intention to improve their quality of life, starting with the best CBD. We use pure CBD isolate derived from Colorado-grown hemp. The only products that make it to launch have been thoroughly tested and show real results. All products are tested by 3rd party lab to verify concentration, quality, and safety.
In addition to using the best CBD, 100% of our products are made in small batches with simple, human-grade ingredients that dogs love and pet parents approve of.
We are proud of our ongoing efforts to give back to the community through regular partnerships with dog rescues across the country and donating a portion of all proceeds to organizations who are making a difference.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The cannabis/CBD space is often deemed the “wild west”. As legalization becomes more popular we see the market shifting to become more health-centric vs. recreational. We are excited to introduce more pet parents (like us!) to the benefits of CBD that they might not have been aware of prior to this CBD movement.
