Meet Emoshun Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emoshun Campbell.

Hi Emoshun, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my creative business at the age of 21. I was a new college grad and felt like I can take on the world, lol. I was traveling between New York, Atlanta, and LA going to auditions for shows and musicals, and either I would get a callback or hear a hard “NO” because I didn’t look the parts I would audition for and or sound like the character. After months of auditioning and feeling defeated and being some what close to homeless because of traveling so much just to “CATCH MY BREAK” I finally settled back in my hometown Brooklyn, New York back with family, sleeping on the couch. I was at my breaking point because I just wasn’t getting it, why no one would pick me ?! I sat long and hard with myself and god praying for wisdom, strength, and courage to push forward. One day an opportunity fall in my lap, I had the opportunity to use a venue space to do whatever I wanted to do, I decided to produce a show, not just any show but a show for artists of all kinds.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not an easy road, THE STRUGGLE WAS REAL!!! Lol, I invested so much, time energy, blood, sweat, and tears literally. I wanted to be the best, my own personal best. I wanted to create my own yes and give the opportunity for others to hear yes. It was so much that try to tear my business and I down. People whom I thought would support me didn’t, money at times was low because I wasn’t that knowledgeable at the time of making sure I get my llc for my business some one even stole the name and the entire show.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I figured it out though. I made some adjustments and even changed the name, implemented more than just having my show just a show. I wanted it to be a creative business. I renamed it “THE JUNGLE 718” LLC, it’s in representation of Jay’z and Alicia keys. Quote “a concrete jungle where dreams are made of” The jungle 718 llc is an umbrella for creativity of all kinds, I produce shows, give creative therapy sessions, and make & sell organic body products. What makes me most proud is that I have a legitimate creative business that is bicoastal and it’s really dedicated to artist.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Through this process, I’ve had god, family, and a small circle of friends cheer me on and motivate me to keep pushing.
