Meet Elexus Hunter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elexus Hunter.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’m a proud native from San Francisco, CA. A quick glance at my childhood, struggles and triumphs, I experienced all forms of abuse up until my 18 birthday and spent time in foster care from ages 16 to 21. Now a survivor, I graduated from the illustrious Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA; with my bachelors in Business Administration emphasis in marketing. I’m serious about changing the next generations by addressing civic groups and organizations geared toward uplifting urban communities and at-risk youth. I’m the founder and president of Tragic is Magic, Inc. A nonprofit organization that provides financial and mental health support to foster youth in California. As an entrepreneur, writer and thought leader, my insight on achieving one’s purpose is to help those who want everlasting success. Creator of Let E Tell It, a cinema of my life’s story past, current and future; through interviews, short films, and pictures. It’s my way of talking about a great experience in relation to whatever issue is being discussed on the show versus my short films that describes the social and cultural activities of sharing organic stories, sometimes with improvisation or personal narratives. Through my journey, I just want to be able to help myself and others maximize their God-given talents despite their challenges and circumstances; so we can do more and be more!

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a storyteller by default and leader by nature. I write to tell the truth about my life’s journey from the time I was born until now. My book titled Tragic is Magic will be republished, to help those who’ve gone through trauma; to cope with ways to get through it and learn to not look back. Creator of LetETellIt is my new YouTube series talk show followed by short creative films that pieces my life together along with individuals who share the same narrative as me; in hopes to connect with a broader audience that need closure. I write because it’s my truth to the outside world and it helps individuals who don’t have a voice to speak up. The message is to live by purpose first and respond with only love and peace. We’re going through a matrix, and we’re in need of sacrifice and healing – in order to be as one. I believe people, fans, and followers take away what resonates with them the most! My hope is that each and every day they strive to be what they’re life purpose is set out to be and not what’s expected. You should know that my artwork comes from a very special place and only good intentions are manifested through my life’s work.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is forever reaching whatever desires and goals that we set out for ourselves. It has no limit. I believe the quality and characteristics that I feel is essential for all artists is to have no filter for being who you are as a creator! We’re all gifted in our own special way, and it’s only unique when the person who’s gifted with that hidden purpose – you must share it with the rest of the world. Don’t be selfish; you’re an artist for a reason!
