Meet Dr Luna and Lilith Bathory of LUNA13 in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr Luna and Lilith Bathory.

LUNA13 is a dark bass music project that started in 2015. Both Dr Luna and Lilith Bathory came together to form a music project that would both shock and entertain people. We are both core artists and made very conscious decisions to live an artist’s lifestyle and to take people into another realm through dark art.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been mixed. LUNA13 had the fortune of signing to Cleopatra Records right away and we are currently signed to COP international records out of Oakland Ca. Yet we have had many challenges being too dark for a lot of venues. Because we had early success venues would want us to play their venues but we were often put in VIP rooms or given early slots because venues found us to be over the top. Now that we have been around for a while and our fan base has grown we have less of a problem with this. Yet we spent a few years struggling to find the support we needed to hit the next level.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Luna13 is original because we bring together two separate genres. We are Blackened Bass Music which merges Bass music and Black Metal. We are one of a kind as we swing back and forth from headlining Metal Festivals to Electronica festivals.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
We have had a hard time with music biz support, even with those that were supposed to be supportive. In the last few years, we removed several business relationships that were not supportive to us. We recently joined COP international Records and it’s been a very supportive relationship. We can tell they want us to succeed. It’s not easy in Hollywood to get the support you need to get you to the next level. You have to stay focused and seek the people out that support for the right reasons.
