Meet Dr. Jeanette Ryan of Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jeanette Ryan, DC/IFMCP.

Dr. Ryan is a healer. She uses an integrated approach of several holistic disciplines to build a customized program for you to attain rapid results in your area of concern. She has been in private practice in Santa Monica since 1988, and uses her skill as a medical intuitive to guide her in working with you.

Dr. Ryan was very ill throughout her childhood, suffering from asthma, allergies, eczema, poor elimination, and insomnia. A severe case of cytomegalo-virus and chronic fatigue had her bedridden for months as a young woman. This experience motivated her to find and master Biokinesiology, a form of therapeutic nutrition that enabled her to heal her own body and gain an authentic understanding of how the body heals. Later in life, she experienced severe postpartum depression, adrenal burnout and fibromyalgia.

“Having had the experience of being very ill and then healing my own body, together with subsequent studies of human physiology (how the body works) and pathology (disease) in my doctoral program has enabled me to have a deep, body-centered understanding of disease, healing and wellness. I feel that a large part of being healthy is having the resilience to be vibrant even in adverse conditions, like chronic stress and less than optimal food selections. This is dynamic flexibility. The body is innately intelligent. It knows exactly what it needs to regain a vital state of dynamic flexibility. One need only to access this information, interpret it correctly and then apply it consistently with compassion and patience, and voila! Your health will be restored. If you sincerely want to be well, this is a method that really works.”

Dr. Ryan graduated as Class Valedictorian from Cleveland Chiropractic College at Los Angeles in 1994. She has been in private practice as a nutritional consultant since 1988. Dr. Ryan has completed post-graduate work in Directional Non-Force Technique Chiropractic, Classical Homeopathy with Ananda Zaren, and completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice course in 2003 with Dr. Jeffrey Bland. She has also completed extensive postgraduate studies of Targeted Amino Acid Therapy for Neurotransmitter Repletion, Functional Endocrinology, and Auto-immune Modulation with Dr. Datis Kharrazian. She became a Certified Practitioner by the Institute of Functional Medicine in 2013. Currently she is taking a Diplomate course in Functional Neurology through the International Association of Functional Neurology. Her work is a dynamic synthesis of these disciplines. Her practice of Functional Medicine and Neurology treats the cause of the disease, not just the symptoms. She designs an individually customized program for you using her extensive expertise.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Amazingly, the way has always been made for my work. It has always been my passion. I am dedicated to ongoing study, lifelong learning in order to better serve my clients.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Dr. Jeanette Ryan, DC/IFMCP – what should we know?
Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. Functional Medicine is epigenetic medicine: through lifestyle, diet and nutraceuticals, we influence your DNA to silence unhealthy genes and turn on healthy genes.  High level personalized wellness.  Each person is unique and I enjoy discovering the challenges to radiant health for each client and then creating a custom program that will bring real results.  The thing that sets my practice apart is that once you experience a healing plan so specific to you as an individual, you will want it for your loved ones as well.  I have had a very strong word-of-mouth referral basis for my practice for 29 years.  I specialize in challenging, chronic cases.  Very commonly I am the 7th or 8th doctor an individual will consult with and with my care they finally receive the results they are seeking.  I am known for resolution of endocrine, auto immune and neurotransmitter imbalances.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
A deep understanding and capacity to discover what an individual needs in order to heal. Holding the space of unconditional love in which healing occurs. Straight forward, results oriented healing protocols. Unshakable confidence in the body’s ability to heal and a passion to find the keys for each person.
