Meet Dez White of Orchard Operations in West Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dez White.

Dez, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started running a gossip blog called Mouth To Ears we broke a Nicki Minaj exclusive with TMZ and it helped us. Once gossip slowed down I moved to technology which opened the doors for television production. I launched Orchard Operations to produce television shows and help small businesses with website design, marketing, apps, and SEO.

Orchard Operations was also one of the first to launch celebrity emoji apps with Blac Chyna and Odell Beckham. On the television side our company has worked with Saweetie, Jeremy Meeks, Pink Sweats, Karen Civil, Nicki Minaj and many more.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Owning a company as a woman has not been easy but I believe in God and he moves all barriers. I find when working with small business owners, its important we let them know there is no ceiling in what they can become. I try my best to empower as many women as I can whether they can afford us or not. A downside of that is often people will want to discount your price then overwork you. As the years have went on I have learned to stand firm in my rates.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Orchard Operations story. Tell us more about the business.
I am own a production / creative firm that helps people obtain their goals. With my reach and success, I decided to open GirlCode LA in order to help teach young girls how to code. We hold three events a year and we are hoping to reach out and do more.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe in God, so I would say he always plays a part – he has blessed me with relationships with genuine people who have supported my business. I am ” lucky” in the friend department as I have some amazing friends. Our circle really supports each other.
