Meet Dave Stroud of VocalizeU in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dave Stroud.

Dave, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a voice coach who has worked with numerous big singers from Michael Jackson to Justin Bieber to Mike Posner and many others.

I created a company that is an Eco-System to support singers through all the aspects of the business and development. We provide products, events, mentors and training for singers all over the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been anything but a smooth road. As any start up goes, there are plenty of challenges ranging from financing to management to product fulfillment

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the VocalizeU story. Tell us more about the business.
We are probably most proud of the events we do. The most recent, for example, was an exclusive songwriting event with James Fauntleroy, who wrote Bruno Mars album, Justin Timberlake’s last 2 albums, and many many more.

This event not only was a huge success for our company, but it was also very successful for the attendees who made significant contacts with publishers who signed at least half of the attendees…

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The training of singers is an ancient tradition and in itself, it won’t change much. However, our ability to remotely connect with singers all over the world and provide high quality instruction and guidance is going to change massively.

We are years ahead of others. I have written code that allows a singer’s voice to be assessed and give them training to change the bad habits they might have – remotely. This is big and as we get more sophisticated with our technology, we can reach out to more singers. This is where we see big changes coming…
