Meet Darla Darling of Morbid Cupcakes and Confections

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darla Darling.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Darla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I originally started out around the age of 8 years old baking wedding cakes with a family member using traditional methods. Around the age of 13 While babysitting younger family members I would teach my younger family members and practice by my baking techniques. As a teen in middle school, I further developed my baking skills by baking deserts and other confections for school-related functions.

During my high school years, I joined a competitive group and participated in many baking competitions and other related activities. During college, I took time off from my baking career due to my family needs. Later in life, I started the art of baking once again and discovered the delicate and exquisite art of cupcake mastery, with the encouragement of friends and very close loved ones I started a small home kitchen company called Gothik Kandy Gurlz which catered to private clients and events.

Spin the clock forward several years as I am now the owner of Morbid Cupcakes and Confections. I now specialize in horror-themed sweets and confections and have tried to perfect the most delicious treats possible. Eventually, I would like to own a Cupcake storefront.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting off anything new can be a challenge especially in the baking world as there is so much competition out there. For the most part, things have been great and smooth with a few bumps along the road as anything can be. I have had several challenges along the way but with the love of my close friends and family and now all the wonderful people I have met along the way I continue to move forward and try to be the best always.

Please tell us about Morbid Cupcakes and Confections.
The Morbid Mission is to provide the most gruesomely disgustingly delightful treats made with the highest quality ingredients for everyone’s creepy pleasure! I want everyone to enjoy every disturbing morsel of my cupcakes and confections as they are 100% edible and 100% free of any synthetic or inorganic compounds. I am known for my Broken Bloody Glass, Monkey Brains and Guts to my Unborn fetus Cupcakes. (No judgment please) lol… Including my severed decomposing fingers and all of my other horrifying treats! This definitely sets me apart from traditional treats.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have several good memories as a child. As I have mentioned before as a young girl baking with family members and just watching her bake traditional wedding cakes and other goodies. The best memory would be during my middle school years winning a baking competition at school and also during my college years winning a small baking competition with friends and family.
