Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Diaz-Lujan.
Danny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started out being passionate about music, art, photography and just being a tech nerd. I decided to pursue these passions and turn them into something that I would enjoy waking up to and looking forward to doing every day while helping others with their visions.
The idea was to combine and provide a service as a one-stop shop. I began freelancing in various ways as I pursued a bachelor degree in graphic design and multimedia. This created a better opportunity for me to use all my skills and combine them to provide that one service that includes an all-access package on services ranging from graphic design, photography, videography, marketing and consulting.
My mission is to help people that are on a budget, I understand that in this economy everyone has struggles, so if you are an established business or just getting started, if you have a wedding but have a tight budget, need a promo video but don’t know where to start I can assist with that. I enjoy helping out people from any small to large project and help them succeed to see their creations come to life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have faced many obstacles along the way, but everything has been a learning experience. There are always things that are out of my control that sometimes happened, the design changes, the deadline gets moved, client cancellation, but I always manage to adapt.
Like every business, there are always issues, and one must be prepared to overcome it and move forward. One challenge that has been a rough road is the concern of my son who was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. With the services and therapy he needed, it made it challenging for me to try to keep a standard 40hr/ wk job. I had to transition and find something fulfilling for my life and also make time for my family.
My son made me a better person in which I was able to go back to school to complete my bachelor and proceed into a career which gives me plenty of time to be with him. With all the time and sacrifices that me and my wife have made, now at the age of 13 he has progressed so much that I am so proud of him.
Freelancing allows me to work with my son’s schedule and spend more time with my family. As a parent of a child under the spectrum, I have been able to work with other families with children under the spectrum and provide a compassionate service as an understanding father.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with dd’s design & photography – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business offers a variety of services ranging from Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, Website design, mockups to print services and any other type of marketing or branding materials needed. I go beyond to meet my Client’s expectations and provide quality service and customer satisfaction within the product.
I always tend to keep up with the latest trends and technology to offer the finest attributes for the project. I also listen and learn from my clients. My easy going personality makes people not only come back but provide a really great word of mouth for my business.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
At the moment it is a small operation, I would like to expand and increase my staff. Since most of the work is done at home, it can limit my clientele. I would like to open a storefront in the near future that will offer a walk-in all-inclusive service for a larger community.
