Today we’d like to introduce you to Milena Mortati.
Milena, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up with the believe system of not being able to support yourself as an artist I finished business school in Switzerland. After graduation, I wondered the planet looking for a home to grow as a creative and found myself planting roots in Los Angeles, the birthplace of many great entrepreneurs and blossoming artist careers.
I expanded my studies in the performing arts and found great fulfillment in the world of visual art. I give myself full freedom of expression and therefore dabble in various mediums such as painting, sculpting, photography and more. After having had the chance to exhibit nationally as well as internationally and meeting many wonderful artists along the way I had the urge of creating a community… and that community is now called CRE8.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
CRE8 is a multi-facet company geared towards helping artists get exposure, offering a platform to promote their talent and to make art more accessible for collectors and art enthusiasts. One of these facets is our Pop-Up Art Shows. Our first official event happened FEB 6&7 at the Civic Center Studios in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. We had over 30 artists from around the world including artisan vendors, art performance, musicians, Dj’s and more. It was a great success and we are very happy with the outcome. Our goal is to have many more of these in different cities around the world collaborating with artists from all over, turning each event into a Docu-Series in order to allow artists to be seen beyond just one event. Since our concept is groundbreaking we are aware of the beginning stages of any great idea, making every effort to translate it into existence, speaking to like-minded people looking for ways to collaborate, keeping it authentic to our vision, with the goal of benefiting the artist from beginning to end.
CRE8 – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
CRE8 is meant to become a home for artists to get inspired to inspire. What do we mean by that? Many have great ideas and beautiful art work lying around their home but not a clue how to sell them or even the courage to expose themselves. CRE8 allows artists to exhibit with us at our events in different cities such as Los Angeles, Zurich and other major towns known to be the home of great artists. We then turn our events into a Docu-Series streaming them on a major platform, making it easy for art collectors to discover hidden gems in the comfort of their own home. We are now in the process of turning CRE8 into an online art gallery offering original artwork as well as selected and limited prints for art enthusiasts with any budget.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Turning your passion into a way of sustaining your life by contributing and helping the community thrive and assisting others to fulfill their dreams and becoming prosperous. “So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.” – Baha’U’Llah
