Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Kinney.
Chris, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started music at the age of 13. I fell in love with it when I heard myself on an instrumental and I knew this was something I would be interested in for a long time. All through high school, I made music and accumulated over 100,000 followers on Instagram. I then proceeded to move to Los Angeles at the age of 19.
I’ve done music videos from LA to Nashville to New York City. I’ve racked up hundreds of thousands of views across YouTube, SoundCloud, and Spotify. Continuously growing my fan base has always been like a computer game to me. It’s all a numbers game! I spend most of my time working my 9-5 and chilling at home with my girlfriend so my plan is to get super big and then go somewhere random and let it sink in when someone recognizes me!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There has been so many obstacles, I’ve been robbed, I’ve missed video shoots, I’ve been lied to by fake a&rs. I’ve been made promises that we’re consistently broken. But everything that I overcame only made me more strong and aware with a business mindset.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Achieving many things through my skills as a natural networker, it’s has always come easy to talk to people and build connections. I know what people want, they know what I want. At the end of the day, we all know it’s business. I want brand growth, they want finances.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are definitely to grow as a music artist and achieve some life long goals that can be amazing memories to tell my grandkids! Selling out venues. Achieving Billboards status, etc.
