Meet Charlotte Chanler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Chanler.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Charlotte. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My work is deeply rooted in a life lived alongside animals. From an early age, I picked up on nuances that others did not, and my first memorable ‘success’ of sorts was the early detection of a tumor in our family dog when I was 11. My experiences receiving readings from others for my own animals illuminated for me just how powerful this work really is. As a teen, I booked a reading for my horse that blew me away. Learning about his past, gaining insight into the pain he was experiencing, and confirming his lifestyle preferences all helped me offer him better care. In so many ways that reading, it deepened our relationship and gave me a greater understanding of him as an individual.

Seeing the results that just this one session offered inspired a longing to consciously connect with animals. I firmly believe we all talk with our animals all the time, we’re just not always aware we’re doing it. Our sessions can help you clarify the conversations you are having and make future communication more fluid for both of you.

While I specialize in equine communication as I’ve immersed myself in the horse world since childhood, I do communicate with all species, domestic and wild alike.

Being a professional animal communicator really is a dream come true for me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The most difficult aspect of being an animal communicator is maintaining confidence. No other profession I’ve pursued has put me in the position of being ‘tested’ by certain clients who are skeptical of the notion of animal communication. Nowadays, most people who book sessions are sincere and are truly there for their animals. When I was first starting out, I didn’t have the boundaries I do now, and that was a difficult learning curve.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am more than your average pet psychic. I’m honored to specialize in equine communication, serving our most beloved and often least understood companions. Unlike most of our domestic pets, horses make very little noise. I’ve noticed that this has a direct effect on how they are generally interacted with. While our cats and dogs can make sounds of distress to alert us to pain, discomfort or fear, our horses do not, and they often suffer mentally, emotionally, and physically for it.

Being able to step into their world for a time and share with their person all that’s going on is nothing short of profound. From lifestyle to tack fit to ancestral trauma, there is so much to discuss. It’s not all heavy though. Horses often bring through the most beautiful, and at times comedic, messages.

Working with animals journeying through terminal illness is another area I specialize in. Tending this space is something I take on with utmost care. As someone who themselves have lost beloved animal family members, I’m intimately aware of the importance of this transition. Having an animal communicator to navigate care and difficult decisions with can be an invaluable tool to support not only the animal and their wishes but to bring confidence and comfort to their people.

What really sets me apart is my ability to walk the line of balance between shadow and light. Sessions tend to have an ebb a flow between more serious topics and ones that bring joy, and clients and I often find ourselves sharing more than a few laughs with their animals. Our animals lead us towards the glimmering light that lies within even the darkest moments, and for that, I am eternally grateful to them.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is a moving target. While each session is so individual, I want my clients to leave our session with a deeper understanding of their animals and also themselves. My intention is that our time together be transformative and that both the animal and their person can move forward with confidence, clarity, and mutual understanding.
