Meet Camille Kauer of ‘The E-Spot with Camille’ in West LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Kauer.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Kauer.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in a film family, my father is an award-winning UPM (Unit Production Manager) and my mom is a noted artist, and retired stunt woman and they both still work in the film industry.

As an actor myself, I needed a way to stay connected with my film community, so in March, I started live streaming ‘The E-Spot with Camille’ from my home studio. I’ve interviewed some of my favorite people in film, fashion, music and the entertainment business. My guests share tips on how they’ve overcome “failures,” challenges, and how they are staying inspired while Hollywood is shut down.

I had guests like film producer, Dwight Williams, Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst, actor Kareem Grimes, comedian Guy Torry, and Laker’s Champion and activist Josh Powell.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, not as all, granted is any passion easy? As an actor, I was used to showing up on set in character, with a crew working; as a team. With podcasting, I had to learn how to be my own team; book guest, write, produce, host, and all the marketing. I am grateful for all my previous work experience as a Spa Manager, Pharma Sales, and in Retail, I was able to transfer a lot of my skills on time management, scheduling, marketing, and so many more soft skills required to work in the luxury med spa industry. I also used my skills in cold calling to book and pitch to get guests and sponsors. Needless to say it’s been a whirlwind experience. I am grateful to have such a curious nature, that I am always excited to overcome any challenges by learning something new. Although sometimes roadblocks are out of our control; such as internet outages, algorithm changes, and new updates, I think the reason my audience has been so supportive is because they see my dedication and they know I am committed to providing an hour or more of interviews with amazing guests that they can learn from.

Please tell us about ‘The E-Spot with Camille’.
The E-Spot with Camille is my baby, it’s a live interview show about Entertainment. Since I’m a true fan and work in the industry. I am a pop culture aficionado with over 20 years working in the film industry. I interview guests that encourage others to pursue their passions, how to handle the inevitable no’s, and inspire us to stick with it.

Hosting the E-Spot has opened up so many opportunities; to learn more about the entertainment industry from many other perspectives. I’ve had Bui Bulvidson, founder of Hero Iceland Productions, share his COVID-19 protocols from Iceland. Dr. Lane Rolling, a Covid-19 task force member and virologist, has been a regular guest and generously shares the latest information to keep us safe on set and off. I’ve also had author and Host Marcellas Reynolds who shared his journey to Hollywood from Chicago and the difficulty Black  models overcame in his book ‘Supreme Models: Iconic Black Women Who Revolutionized Fashion.’

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am so lucky that I live in a time where innovative technology exists. Technology has given us all the ability to create our own content, and to make sure that we can all see and hear ourselves. I’ve been lucky that so many guests have happily shared their time and inspiring stories with The E-Spot. I can’t wait for Season 2!
