Meet Brittney Grabill in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Grabill.

Brittney, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I experienced many different activities as a kid growing up in Edmonton, AB, Canada. It wasn’t until I had major back surgery at the age of 13 when I couldn’t partake in sports anymore that I started acting, modeling and playing music. I travelled to Los Angeles at the age of 14 for an acting program with Adrian R’Mante and I fell in love with film as a powerful medium to effect people as it did for me. Acting helped me grow my confidence at a time when I was trying to find my new identity.

Since making the official move to Los Angeles at the age of 20, I have since been acting and working behind the camera in production and casting. The more projects I work on, the clearer I get on my intentions towards the type of films I want to make. I want to educate and further the conversation happening in the world regarding equality and civil rights.

Right now I have been diving into more stories from the female perspective, including an exciting new sketch comedy group I work with called Hot and Funny which has a strong female presence on screen and in the writer’s room. As well as my work with the very theatrical hard rock band Jezebel Slade. Hardest working band I know, female fronted, always finding ways to be innovative and unapologetically unique, I was so very excited to say the least when given the opportunity to direct their last four music videos.

I’m also incredibly excited about my partnership with Tilted Vision Productions, and as a team we are working on a number of projects to come out over the next year. It’s incredible when you find people to work with that make you step into new territory and grow in every which way, so I would definitely watch out for what Tilted Vision has coming.

Otherwise, right now in life I am navigating my way towards getting clearer on what type of stories I want to be told and the people I want to build this career with for many years to come.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Knowing I have the best people around me that always have my back, has been a big part of staying positive when things get tough. I am very proud of myself for attracting the quality people I have in my life at this moment. Although I call them friends, a better title for them would be mentors. I’ve struggled in the past when I feel I don’t have a strong sense of community around or I feel I’m not growing in the right direction. Be very aware of the people you primarily surround yourself by.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Brittney Grabill – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a producer. Always have been really. Even in the first grade when there would be a group project, I would take on the liberty to assign my classmates the tasks that aligned with their skillset, over look on the progress and make sure it was completed to the best of our abilities. Many other titles have come my way, actor, musician, singer, director, etc., however a producer is who makes things happen and I think those who know me would say that about me.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
What I love about making films and collaborating with other artists, is I never know what projects will come my way that I will feel the need to get made. That is why I am getting more clear on the stories I am willing to put my energy and time into. I would love to produce, direct and act in as many stimulating films as possible in my life time and world along my mentors/best friends.
