Meet Brandy Haze

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Haze.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was two years old, I’ve always told my parents I would be a singer. After graduating from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, I worked a corporate job as a marketing analyst in New York, however, I soon realized I wanted to pursue my career in music, so I left my job and moved to back to California.

I started working with producers and quickly learned I would have to learn how to write my own songs. I began working in Marketing in order to pay for all my music expenses but figured I would take the time to learn how to do it all myself.

In January 2018, I quit my job in order to do music full time and put out a meaningful music project. My single now has over 500k streams across platforms, and I am working on releasing much more music next year.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s not always easy to quit a job and do what you love to do. There were definitely times I found I had to do random jobs in order to sustain and pay rent, however, I find that loving what you do is more fulfilling than working to create someone else’s dream.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
Currently, I know how to sing, songwriter, record, and mix my own vocals. I feel that my style is a mixture of genres that sets me apart from many other singers today. I am proud of how far I’ve gotten on my own with my own marketing strategies and knowledge of music.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I wouldn’t do anything different. Everything you go through teaches you a lesson and creates our journey in life.
