Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Tobias.
Hi Brandon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey began with an intense desire to be free and to survive.
I had recently been knocked onto my butt (laid off) from my well-paying job just before Covid hit, without any work lined up in the near future and an early pandemic on the rise. They had told me something along the lines of “it was no longer a good fit…” Oh boy. Life was about to change, BIG time. I could feel it.
After a few days of mental and emotional recovery and acceptance to this stark reality, both within my personal life and within society, I began to look at my options. There were no other jobs lined up that I knew of, and for some reason I had very little desire to go back to a 9-5 working environment. To be honest…It just didn’t seem like it would fit ME anymore. I was living at home for the time being to save money and had no idea what the future held. Luckily for me, God, The Universe, and all those who Guide our paths from above had a master plan. All they needed from me was to say YES and follow. So I did.
A few days after that I got a call from an old friend I had met at a men’s retreat a few months back. His name was Josh and he wanted to hire me as an independent consultant to help him build a state of the art High-Tech Wellness facility. It was my first time negotiating and setting my own rate as opposed to accepting or declining someone else’s. And it was the first time I could say I was conducting my own business of sorts.
Six months go by successfully completing his Wellness Facility over in Minnesota, all the while with a tremendously significant relationship break up in between. I head back to California newly single and with more money than I had ever experienced in my bank account. I could finally live out my dreams as a “solo” entrepreneur living by the beach…or so I thought : ) Most importantly, Josh had given me the confidence, resources, and experience to know I could make it as an entrepreneur. Thank you Josh, wherever you are and whatever you are doing. Thank you.
After finding myself a little studio in the (not so) humble area of Marina Del Rey, CA-I hunkered down and started to think of ways that I could sustain myself. Covid was running rampant and there was no “going out” to speak of during those times. So I had all the time I could ever need to be with myself, heal, and create the business of my dreams.
Thus began the journey of my original channel, Science of the Soul and Stars, on Youtube (Now named True Love and Lives with Brandon Tobias). According to the research I had done, I was supposed to find a subject/niche on Youtube that was Popular but not too overcrowded and also had great “searchability” for smaller crowds in order to gain any traction these days. Something that also had tremendous potential to grow…
While I had been actively practicing the Tarot and Astrology for just a few years prior, I had scarcely given readings publicly or for other people. I had never been a practicing coach and had no credentials to Guide people to speak of. This was intimidating, but I figured that there was only one way to find out if I could ACTUALLY make a living on my own. And that was to go all in and try this terrifying, risky, and beautiful experiment. If this failed, I’d be back to square 1, likely having to go back and live with the parents. NOT where I wanted to be! It just so happened that these subjects were gaining popularity on Youtube but not too overcrowded and has tremendous potential to grow a significant audience. It was the perfect mix of circumstances. The only question was…was I READY to come out full-time as a Love Tarot Card Reader?? Was I good enough? What would my friends and family say? etc. etc.
Turns out, I was a natural Tarot Card Reader and my videos, slow at first, quickly picked up traction due to the research I had done on knowing how/what to name them, the thumbnail design, and the introductions of each video. From there, it (with lots of effort and consistency and internal battles) flowed into a weekly Livestream show (every Sunday at 1pm PST) and a full-fledged coaching business. I had clients coming to me left and right looking for readings and made more money than I’ve ever made in my life.
I guess the Universe and God really did have a plan for me. I just didn’t know it until it happened and I tried it out.
For all those reading this who do not know if they can do it if they are capable of creating their own business or helping/inspiring others with your own creative gifts-you can. And will. There is nothing holding you back besides your own doubt and disbelief that it is possible AND that you were meant to do so. In fact, I’d bargain to say that if you’re reading this IF you’ve made it this far, you’re meant to follow in these very footsteps and go all into your own dreams and your own business. You WILL find a way. It’s all in a matter of timing and allowing the circumstances around you to guide you to what you need to do. Trust the process, trust your own gut. And I’ll see you out there. : )
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No. There have been many, many struggles. Most of them internal-where it is a battle between parts of myself. One part saying I CAN and will do it, succeed, and keep working, and others doubting it or telling me that I’m not worthy of having what I want. I say-if you want to succeed it is more about you winning your own battles within yourSELF than anything external. Don’t get lost along the way with your outside circumstances. Pay more attention to what’s inside holding you back and you will find your own path and be more than successful at that.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk is the MOST essential thing I’ve learned to manage and take on in this lifetime.
It is the single most important thing I recommend to anyone looking to be successful and follow their own Soul’s path.
Risk is the very thing that keeps people in the most amount of hesitation or fear, that is often the most rewarding possible thing that they can overcome to find their Truth and Purpose. It’s knowing when and when not to take risk that is the specific skillset and wisdom that will change a person’s life permanently.
And with most people…it’s knowing that RISK is also the thing that will set them free. NOTHING worth having comes without risk. So if you want to be truly happy and fulfilled in this life, it REQUIRES a substantial amount of risk. And…knowing that what the heck else is the purpose of living anyways without it? We are all going to die-we are all going to get old and incapable, sick and/or diseased in time. Why not live the life on YOUR terms if we are all destined to this necessary future anyways? I believe a life well lived that is short is much, much better than a life prolonged and unnecessarily restricted that does not find inner peace and fulfillment for the things that they’ve accomplished along the way. If you’re reading this…get to it! The World needs you and you didn’t come here to allow mediocrity. You are here to change the lives of many people and it’s time…Now. Never before or again will there be a time where this is more important to know. It’s after the storm when the people are picking up the pieces that it is meaningful we have everyone on board with their own gifts to contribute. We need you…so get to it and be willing to risk it all. You are worth it!
