Meet Sarah Rhoades of The Blonde Jedi in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Rhoades.

Sarah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
First of all, to everyone taking the time to read this- thank you! I’m Sarah- a LA native, artist of many forms, dog mom and all-around geek. I started dancing as a young girl and before I knew it, I was pa de bourree’ing full time. I got the best training, danced with the Joffrey Ballet, went on to win several national titles and graduated from OCSA being awarded Best in Ballet. Then it was time for a college education and to start my career as a professional artist! Believe it or not, my first job was with a company that I still work with- Disney. Being ‘Disney Royalty’ is sort of as awesome as it sounds and has given me enough memories to last a lifetime- my favorite being the day I got to receive Tinker Bell’s Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I’ve shared a photo below because it was just the best day ever! Within months of booking Disney, I checked another box off my bucket list and became a Los Angeles Laker Girl. WE LOVE LA! Although the stage is my home, I also love being on screen. Probably the coolest day I’ve had on-set was shooting a scene with Ariana Grande at Nickelodeon, what a goddess! I’ve also had the opportunity to appear in multiple award-winning indie films as both an actor and voiceover artist. My work has expanded to theater, print and commercials, working on projects for Universal, Barbie, Adidas, Cartoon Network, Bratz and… Disney! I am so thankful to the LA dance scene that has allowed me to perform literally everywhere and live the life of a real artist. And I love my city! Have I said that enough? As I continue to grow and evolve, so does my brand and art. I don’t know how the story ends but I’m pretty sure that’s part of the fun.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
‘Embrace what makes you unique’ is the foundation of my voice and brand. It’s something I tell myself every day. In school, I dealt with my share of mean kids. I really wanted to be liked and I remember trying to change who I was to be more ‘normal.’ But living for other people isn’t really living (whoa, deep). The lesson was learned and has continued to make me stronger… and happier. Don’t let anyone steal your sparkle!

Please tell us about The Blonde Jedi.
Instagram has connected the world like never before. And along with filters & hashtags came the Influencer. @the.blonde.jedi in the house!! It feels pretty cool to have a dedicated following of people who are into what I’m creating- I’ll never forget when I got my first fan art! My work toward designing & executing cosplays plus growing my brand has given me the opportunity to attend so many events, make some incredible connections and work with some really awesome brands. Best of all- I really LOVE it! Cosplay is art, it’s an expression, it’s passion. Follow me to join the party! And may the force be with you.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Easy- Disneyland! We were the original Annual Passholders!! My fam would strut through the main gate with our double strollers and huge video camera that looked like it weighed at least 15lbs. Just living the dream with all my favorite people. Visiting now is like walking into a time capsule of my childhood. A very expensive time capsule. Thank you to my mom & grandma for giving me so many beautiful memories.
