Meet Ashton Saldana of Soulace Seeker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashton Saldana.

Ashton, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been a female that eschewed from societal norms and knew if I wanted to live a fulfilled life, I’d have to remain true to that voice in my head. I grew up playing office executive instead of playing house, I distinctly remember at 12 years old I knew I didn’t want to become a mother, and my idea of marriage was a union wherein you maintained your personal identity instead of simply adopting someone else’s. As I got older, I really started to see the backlash from society if you didn’t conform to their ideal life choices. This only made me more determined to seek a life where I played by my own rules and became committed to helping other women do the same. I’ve always been a creative person and find so much solace in writing, practicing the art of gratitude, self-love, and a positive attitude. I overcame many life obstacles and became the best version of myself solely because of this mindset and want to share and promote this way of life so others can find their purpose and start living a life well-lived.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Something I had to really work on was putting myself out there which was difficult because I’m an introvert by nature. I had to network, be vulnerable, and start to embrace being uncomfortable. Public speaking is definitely not my forte but my devotion to share my message is greater than the fears that I harness.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Soulace Seeker – what should we know?
As I turned 30, I went through some pretty transformative changes in my life that led me here. My business started out as therapeutic writing for my blog that featured various articles expressing my personal philosophies on relationships and sharing my spiritual practices. I also have been extremely fortunate to travel around the world and this has allowed me to share with my readers the impact from indulging in new cultures, cuisines, and comforts. Like the great Anthony Bourdain said, “the extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody.”

Quickly the business flourished into hosting workshops and seminars that fell in line with what I was truly passionate about and finally led to the publication of my first book in October 2018. I consider myself a “soulpreneur”; someone who builds a business from their soul’s calling. I think what sets me apart is how raw and unfiltered I am. Often people tell me how courageous I am to speak my truth, but the real truth is being uncensored is and always will be the catalyst in my growth process. The mission of Soulace Seeker is to invite and encourage other people to join me on this personal development path whether it’s through one of my books or a live event.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the definition of success is relative, but I truly feel personal development and inspiring others is worth far more than any monetary measurement. I was so ignited by the work I was doing that I knew I had to continue sharing my story and staying committed to impacting others in a positive way. My passion and positivity were such a driving force in getting this business off the ground, I ensured I protected myself from energies that were not conducive to my success and message.
