I’m Ashley McEntee, CEO, and Founder of MATCHA MCENTEA. I conceived MATCHA MCENTEA through my love for matcha and fascination with skincare products. As a woman with celiacs, I’m always conscious of what products I use and consume, so I realized why not whip up my own special-tea that protects and purifies the skin by utilizing matcha green tea powder. As a matcha enthusiast, I understood the consumption benefits early on. Matcha is packed with rich high antioxidants levels and provides a natural boost while still detoxing and lowering any inflammation through the power of its ingredient -epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).
Over the years, I’ve learned you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s business world; your personality, passion, and, most importantly, your heart. All of these elements brought me to brew up MATCHA MCENTEA a skincare line. Our non-toxic, clean skincare serum launching this year will have your skin looking caffeinated, calm, and confident.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Great question, yes and no. We are still in the early phases of the company. I’ve had the opportunity to leverage a decade of marketing and business strategy learnings to this new venture. The main obstacle I faced and conquered initially was my insecurity to pursue my passion with the concern of failure. But after hearing and seeing the demand in the marketplace, I was reassured and felt compelled to serve up a clean green serum. Building a business from scratch, you realize each step today makes a difference tomorrow. Never giving up on your passion is what is important and sets you apart in achieving success.
We’ve been impressed with Matcha Mcentea, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MATCHA MCENTEA is an upcoming skincare line that has formulated a non-toxic, clean facial serum designed to leave your skin feeling silky smooth, and radiant. The company is still in its infancy but brings a new vision to the skincare industry, with ceremonial grade matcha as its core ingredient.
Matcha green tea has been a go-to drink in Asia for hundreds of years, thanks to its nutritional benefits. Its fresh, vibrant roots were founded in Japan. The traditional Japanese conduct tea ceremonies using the highest quality matcha powder as it is said to embody the meditative spirit during their harmonic rituals. At MATCHA MCENTEA, we promote that belief into our modern skincare line as a way to blend health and beauty into one product.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My tenacious personality mixed with my desire to bring matcha into the beauty realm. I enjoy sharing our products with others as it’s the foundation is invented on high-quality active ingredients.
