Today we’d like to introduce you to Ash Allure.
Ash, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am from Houston, TX residing in Los Angeles, CA and ever since I could remember music has always been a big part of my life. My mom Edna and dad Paul had a very expansive music palate and they always had music on or around me and my little sister Lauren.
When I was about 5 years old, my mom would actually take me and sister to the studio when she was working on projects and being curious I would play on the keyboard or watch my mom sing in the booth to see how it worked, so from then on I knew that music was always going to be apart of me.
When I got to college in 2015, I started using this DJing software that I would make mixes with and that became a hobby that I grew to love. In 2017, I made a conscious decision to start pursuing a career in the entertainment business and that’s when everything began.
I was an artist manager first and that taught me everything about the music industry and I started to learn how important patience, persistence and discernment was.
At the end of 2017, I drove to LA with less than $100 in my pocket to pursue my dream and I slept in my car for two weeks living off ramen noodles & peanut butter sandwiches but I knew I couldn’t quit. In the following days, I started to push myself and ended up meeting this artist at an open mic and I knew immediately I wanted to manage him. He told me he wanted to partner, so I drove back to Houston packed my things and officially moved to Los Angeles, CA.
Within the first week of living in LA, I got in the studio and recorded my first song and it sparked my interest to the point where I was being divinely guided to become an entertainer. I was hesitant at first but once I met this producer named Keith Classiq and we started making music together, I knew it was time to switch hats and become Ash Allure. It was the scariest decision of my life but taking that leap made me fearless.
As I started going deeper on my path as an artist I realized something…this was who I am all along since I went to my first studio session with my mom when I was 5 years old. Ash Allure was always apart of me and I couldn’t let doubt, insecurities or outside influences affect my journey.
For a long time I tried to seek validation or approval from my family and friends, because I knew it wasn’t a popular or secure path. However, I had to learn to be proud of myself and embrace my path and trust and surrender to this very rewarding journey as a musician.
I am proud of me. I am proud of the path I chose. I am proud that I never gave up on myself.
That is my story. That is my life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think taking a chance on yourself comes with many tests but through pain and loss you find inner strength and endurance ~
The biggest struggle for me was getting in my own way, not listening to my intuition and letting doubts, insecurities and fears get in the way of my path and purpose. I had to realize that I was merely a vessel and my calling was bigger than me.
When I understood that, I learned the importance of surrendering and being in a state of “acceptance” and “flow”.
That helped smooth my road out, because now I was letting a higher power express itself through me and I started listening to that divine guidance. Additionally, that helped stop the resistance between me and my dream because like rumi says ‘what you seek is seeking you’ and understanding that I let go of fear and control. In like manner, I accepted what I am here on this earth to do and started fully living in my purpose.
The ship sails on calm waters now because of that epiphany 🙂 ~
We’d love to hear more about what Ash Allure represents and what is the most gratifying thing about choosing this path?
Ash Allure is a musician, philanthropist, holistic health/mental health advocate, and the creator of the genre, Frequency Trap which is the auditorial embodiment of duality and balance.
Equally important, the most gratifying thing about choosing this path is being able to do what I love and being blessed with a gift that heals others on an emotional level whether that be through teaching, music or any other medium that seems fitting for the situation.
Furthermore, being able to add value to people’s lives and call this my job is so gratifying.
It is truly rewarding to be able to live 110% from your heart space, do what your passionate about and pursue something that gives you inspiration ~
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always very inquisitive, witty and extremely charismatic. I loved to laugh, loved to learn and loved to dance and sing.
In school, I was more so of an extroverted loner. I loved being social but I was always a thinker, so I stayed to myself a lot as well. I was an avid reader and was placed in gifted and talented classes because of my wittiness.
I loved going to concerts and for birthdays and Christmas I would always ask for CDs instead of toys or other things because I loved music that much. Also, I loved puzzles or any type of problem-solving games and I loved creating things or editing. Furthermore, I was always naturally into the Arts and Technology and loved to research and express myself through anyway I saw fit.
Above all else, I was always very caring and kind-hearted and I always put other peoples feelings before mine.
