Meet Arilia Winn of Winn Publications in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arilia Winn.

Leader. A word that applies to Arilia Winn in every facet of her life, from the adversities she’s faced and overcame to the role she plays in the community. Raised by parents who believe in God and in the golden rule – treat others the way you want to be treated, Arilia’s life is a reflection of these values.

Her decades of learning and growing through the teaching of the Bible, college institutions, and the school of hard knocks, Arilia is devoted to helping others the best way she knows how – creatively. After seven years of studying journalism, fashion PR, creative writing, audio engineering, and news writing, Arilia graduated with her BA in 2014 from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. That same year she gave birth to her child and became an amazing single mama.

After graduation little did she know that she would go on to create a successful publishing business where she not only writes and publishes her own work, but she assists other authors and writers with writing and publishing theirs as well.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Some of the struggles I’ve faced along the way were: being in abusive relationships, becoming a single mom my last year in undergrad, losing a job I loved, and becoming diagnosed with Bipolar 2 Disorder. Through it all, I was determined to keep moving forward no matter what.

Winn Publications – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I own seven publishing companies and an online bookstore. My main company is Winn Publications LLC. It launched in January of 2018, and became an LLC in February of 2020. It is a multi-imprint parent company that specializes in publishing self-help books and memoirs.

I am most proud that I have come this far given my personal struggles.

My brands are what set me apart from others. As someone who has been in the publishing industry for six years and in business for almost three years, I know what my clients want. I offer them their desired publishing experience and it becomes a win-win for both of us.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Being able to become an LLC and expand during the COVID pandemic has been one of the proudest moments. I also had quit my job in July to homeschool and work my business full time. Since then, I have seen the fruits of my labor pay off. I and everyone who is attached to me right now is doing well. I have published more books this year than any other year before. I am winning!
