Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Velez.
Hi Ariel, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, formally known as AV3 decided to change his name to Ariel Velez. He started rapping at age 13 feeling he needed to reach to the youth because he believed there was a disconnect between the old and the new generation. Ariel felt like God had called him to do something more with his life, specifically reaching those without a voice through his music. He grew up listening to Lecrae, Andy Mineo, and Lil Wayne, giving him a diverse style of music. There was always a disconnect within himself and his family. He often acted out in anger, experienced depression, and had suicidal tendencies. The only way he felt he could release how he felt was through music, knowing people would relate to his message. This is only the beginning of what he hopes to accomplish and where he believes he can go with his music. Ariel has been working on releasing new music! The song I Can Tell is only the start to something bigger in the works! Ariel was also featured in the Washingtonmail, LAtribune, and Vents Magazine to introduce the raising him to the world and his next ventures! He has been working closely to build his city up with interviews, helping the community, and building an empire with his close friends calling themselves Anomaly! He just released his new single Black Sheep! It has been getting praised by 24HipHop, HipHopwithnoname, and many many more!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life has never been a smooth road; you always have to find new ways to overcome every obstacle in your way! Unfortunately, it will never be overnight. One thing I learned around this road is patience and persistence. Dreams do come true; you just have to want it more than the next person. I’m in the space, everything must be right, or I can’t move on. If you really dedicate yourself to 3 things for 6 months and really hone in your abilities and skills, there no stopping you
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in, doing interviews, networking, and music. I have been doing music for over 10 plus years, interviewing for over 3 years now. Networking to me is the best and most powerful tool in my arsenal. You will never know where it will take you, but it will take you far! I have a show/podcast called Perfect Timing where I interview every type of creative out there. For music I do hip-hop, but I have been expanding my sound. I don’t want to give too much away. I am releasing an EP called Honest Amongst Ourselves. This EP is for those who been alone, battled depression, those who go to therapy, and more! It was all Produced by Richie Pena.
What matters most to you? Why?
My family, my music, my podcast because it is what keeps me balanced and helps to conquer any goal or obstacle.
