Meet Antelope Valley Photographer: Camillo Longo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camillo Longo.

Camillo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up with a camera in my hands. I made photographs of everything and everywhere I went. In high school, I spent lunch in the darkroom and knew then I wanted to work professionally as a creative. I eventually went on to receive my BFA in photography from Art Center College of Design.

Has it been a smooth road?
I’m very fortunate to have my road be a smooth one. The most challenging part has been my struggles with paying back my student loans.

Has there been people or an institution that has played a pivotal role in your career?
There’s been a few people who’ve played a big role in my career. Some have been personal mentors, friends, and colleagues and some have been other photographers and artists. We all exist together on this beautiful planet floating in the cosmos… and even the smallest conversation with someone can greatly impact my career.

Do you have a favorite type of client or project?
Lately, I’ve been really into collaborating with other local artists. I’ve been wanting to make artist portraits and work with others who really inspire me. I’ve also been obsessed with the local Highway 2, specifically near Wrightwood, and making photographs there of the landscape and road.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
Not a thing! I believe we are here and everything happens for a reason. So there’s nothing I’d go back and change or do differently.
