Meet Andrew Carlson of Shift Into Action Now! in Newport Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Carlson.

Andrew, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was working in the film industry in New Orleans when a project in LA came about in 2011. Moved up from Production Assistant to Production Management while I was out here.

In 2013, I had to take a step away from the film industry due to health concerns and started working in the restaurant industry.

While working in the restaurant industry, I quickly moved from entry-level to management to the training & development executive. During that time, I had to go through 10 different heart surgeries over the course of a three years period as they weren’t fully sure what was wrong.

The biggest struggle that I had to overcome was that I had a defibrillator implanted into my heart as a preventative in case anything would happen.

I joined a business mastermind where I started learning all about how internet marketing worked. There was a fencing event that I went to and during the warm-up, my defibrillator shocked me. Not just once like it was supposed to… my heart continued to get shocked.

It got shocked 30+ times and it was there that I knew that I had to do something different than medication.

So I studied hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), mindfulness techniques, breathing exercises, and so much more.

It was during the certification courses that I found out that I wanted to help others live a better, more mindful life.

But I did that by helping other entrepreneurs scale & grow their businesses.

In 2017, I left the restaurant industry altogether and opened up my business full-time.

In 2020, with COVID, I decided to change what I was doing. Instead of just helping businesses scale… I was going to help entrepreneurs live a more confident life while building a business they loved.

In doing so, I realized that the mindset side of things was so much more powerful.

I took my content to TikTok in February. By April 15th, a video of mine went viral amassing over 5 million views.

My channel scaled from 1500 followers to 100k in just under a week. I went from having a business helping entrepreneurs to helping people from all walks of life with their mindset.

Over the summer, my business was so packed with clients and people needing help that I couldn’t keep up with producing content.

Now, my business has clients all over the world. I am the Head of Growth & Client Transformation with a mastermind in called “The Extraordinary Life & Business Mastermind” where we help business owners transform their businesses AND help them with their mindset.

We are also opening up a marketing agency because we see so many people struggling with other agencies and we will be helping clients be more confident on camera, get better results, and transform their businesses.

Lastly, my company Shift Into Action Now!, helps celebrities/experts/social media influencers be more confident in life by releasing the crap that holds us back in life so we can actually create an extraordinary life (in all seven areas) instead of just merely existing.

Has it been a smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges I had to overcome was my health issues.

Between 2013-2016, I struggled with a rare congenital heart defect that stalled my life. I could barely hold a job because I was in and out of the hospital.

Luckily, the restaurant I started working with was very understanding of my situation.

But the biggest struggle was that my defibrillator shocked me six different times. Every single time, my heart would beat faster which caused the defibrillator to keep shocking which put me into the hospital for 1-2 weeks at a time.

During one of the visits, a nurse didn’t listen to the doctor’s orders and I was put on double the medication I should have.

One day in the hospital, I lost all motor function. It was 11pm at night and my friend who stayed with me I told her not to go. Something was wrong but I didn’t know why.

She had spent the last four days there and said she had to go get actual sleep and take a shower.

I felt sheer terror.

Around 4am, I texted her (took about 20 minutes to type it out) saying something was super wrong and I needed her there immediately.

I couldn’t talk. I could only grunt. I was shaking like I had Parkinson’s. Luckily she arrived around 5:15/5:30 in the morning where she dragged someone in.

They rushed me to get a brain scan and they said I was minutes away from having a stroke due to medicine intoxication.

It was in that moment that I realized how precious life was and if I could help people find their purpose without having to experience a near-death situation, then I’d do everything in my power to do that.

Also, in 2017, I struggled to make my business work so I almost became homeless. I was on the verge of not being able to pay my bills but then a client took a chance on me and I was able to claw my way back.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Shift Into Action Now! story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is called Shift Into Action Now! I’m a mindset & business coach who helps experts & social media influencers be more confident in life & business.

I specialize in providing entrepreneurs with all of the business strategies & systems that I have used to help clients scale their businesses – whether they’re making $10k/month or $250k/month.

But anyone can provide business systems and strategies. What makes me different is I also use transformational mindset tools and strategies called Neuro-Energetics.

Strategy is 20% of the problem. The other 80% is getting over the limiting beliefs, negative emotions, or internal conflicts that prevent any entrepreneur from creating the life & business of their dreams.

I’m known as the “mindset” guy on TikTok. But that’s why I named my company “Shift Into Action Now” because everyone was always talking about taking action… but it’s not just something you can take.

It’s something you can shift into though and with the right mindset strategies… you can truly become anything and everything that you want.

What sets me apart is that I have a few different business partners in different aspects of my business.

The mastermind I’m a part of, “The Extraordinary Life & Business Mastermind” – we specialize in helping business owners consistently make $10k-$100k months in their businesses.

I’m also known as the “celebrity life coach” on TikTok because I’ve helped social media influencers overcome issues they had in their personal lives.

Here’s the deal… we all have had experiences in the past that have changed the course of our lives… not always for the better.

So in helping people shift their perspective and tap into how they can shift the past to create a better future, I have learned that anyone can create the life they want to live with confidence.

Another thing that sets me apart from any other “mindset coach” out there is that I have a software called the “MindScan” where I can measure people’s strengths & weaknesses in how they think.

I provide people with a 20+ page report that outlines their strengths, weaknesses, and it also provides them with how they can tangibly make changes in their life to make things easier.

I’m also a columnist for Uploader Magazine – an international magazine for influencers, artists, and actors.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The coaching industry and mindset industry over the next 5-10 years won’t really change. The biggest shift was everyone had to stop their in-person retreats and events and shift to virtual.

This has been easy for some and incredibly difficult for others.

I have a feeling that COVID has been a beautiful thing in helping people re-prioritize what is actually important in their lives… but it has also been a nightmare for others.

So on the mindset side of things, you’re going to find more people lean towards a more holistic approach. More people are in need of emotional release and COVID has been incredibly stressful for many.

I think the biggest shift that we’re leaning towards is more authenticity, more integrity, and needing measurable results when it comes to coaching.

More corporations and executives are going to need mindset and mindfulness practices in their companies to help people reintegrate back into the workforce.

The virtual options allow more people than ever before be more productive while they work.

I also think that people are going to try to lean towards replacing coaches with AI or apps BUT they will realize the power of actually having that human connection.
