Meet Alexander Jesus Burgos of Phoenix 4 Entertainment in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Jesus Burgos.

Alexander, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story began when I was 14, auditioning for my first play and honestly first audition. I was very green and knew nothing but quickly came to the realization that I wanted this to be my career.

I wanted to do something where I could competently change my life and my family’s life. Especially after experiencing my mother go through breast cancer twice, and my sister being diabetic. Thankfully they are both here still with us. God has blessed me and my family greatly.

A successful career as an Actor/Producer can give me the platform to convey a positive message of hope and the resources to never see the people closest to me ever struggle again.

Now 11 years later I am closer to my goals and dreams than ever. Co-running an amazing production company with a team I would not trade for anyone. Creating content from Movies to spoken word that shines a light on topics that are shoved away or difficult to convey.

I always put God first on everything I do because I know the path he puts me on is the one I need to be in. And doing so in this career will resonate globally.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth.

I said before I started this journey at 14. At the time I lived in Fort Myers, FL where I went to high school after moving back from the Dominican Republic.

Once I turned 21, I decided to leave my personal training job, with my Associates in business under the belt and drove to Atlanta GA, with God and my family’s blessing and nobody waiting for me over there. I luckily found an apartment in a not so good part of town where gunshots were like fireworks. But hey, I had a place to sleep.

A few months in my roommate decided to leave so I had to break my lease and sleep on my new friend’s floor for three months while working almost full time as a background actor and working at an obstacle course. While that was going on I was filming countless short films with a team I joined and staying as physically fit as possible. It all paid off because I booked a supporting role in an indie film called “Blackbear” with the legendary Eric Roberts where I played an antagonist MMA fighter. It was also my first experience performing my own stunts.

After this, and almost two years later. With newly found friends and some prayer, we decided to drive a straight 32 hours to the City of Angels to elevate our careers. Now things got fishy as we had to sleep in parking garages and our cars for the first couple of weeks. In the midst of this, I met my now great friend and business partner whom we run Phoenix 4 productions together.

Fast forward to almost three years later, I am living in a three-story house in Arcadia California with a great team of filmmakers that are all in the brink of success and doing this full time and %100 of the time.

Regardless of the downs the ups outweigh them and have molded me into the person I am now. I will never give up and will always be grateful for every single moment because they put me where I am now.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Co-running an amazing production company with a team I would not trade for anyone. Creating content from Movies to spoken word that shines a light on topics that are shoved away or difficult to convey.

My specialty is Acting and co-producing on the majority of our projects. Currently, we are known for our fast network and high-quality work.

The thing that I am most proud of as a company is that we build relationships, not just partnerships or only work acquaintances. It is important to have a real relationship to reflect your vision.

I am currently working on, alongside my team, a film called Find your Faith. Where I play the lead, Jaime, who figuratively and literally has to fight to find his faith and belief in himself to become what he wishes to be.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I love Los Angeles, I believe truly that it is the land of opportunity if you put in the work and are seriously passionate about your craft. Now, it doesn’t matter how much talent you have if you don’t put in the -blood, sweat, and respect’ it takes to achieve success.
