Meet Alexa Ferr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Ferr.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Alexa. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and moved out to LA when I was 19! I’ve been doing music since I was a young kid, as my parents put me in vocal lessons by 7 or 8 years old and dance lessons at 4 and began competitive dance from 9-16 years old. I started to perform in local musicals, school talent shows, local talent showcases, and contests since I was 8, and then my parents enrolled me into acting when I was 13. I signed to a talent agency in Toronto, which took me to LA for a talent showcase. I received callbacks from agents and music managers, so I ended up coming back to LA a few times over the next few years to work with producers and choreographers, as well as went to a bunch of acting auditions. When I moved out to LA, I had just released my EP the year before, and was working with more producers and learning to write my own lyrics and have more of a say when it came to my releases. I’ve performed all over LA and Hollywood areas, and I’ve worked alongside many great producers and writers. As of right now, I am finishing up my new project, and I am planning on releasing a new single within the next month. I’ve encountered so many ups and downs in the industry so far, but every situation shaped me into the artist, and the woman I am today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! From broken promises, lies, being taken advantage of spiritually and financially, it has been a super tough road, but every situation made me who I am. I’ve learned my lessons the hard way, but now I know what I want, I know my craft, and I can get things done on my own if need be, so I don’t need to wait or rely on anyone. However, there have been many positives on my journey, and I have made connections with people who share the same passion as I do, so that is always a blessing!

Alright – so let’s talk about your work – what should we know?
As of right now, I release my own personal music under this name. I also do features, and I write and or record demos, which I always provide stems, files, lyrics, and anything else the buyer may need for a set price we agreed on. I am proud that my services have been picking up the past few months, and I believe that since I provide not only everything the client asks for, I go above and beyond to make sure they are satisfied with the final results!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel that my honesty, personality, passion and my drive are the most important to my success because I’ve been played before and I’ve also worked with people who weren’t as serious, so I know what it’s like, and I always try to push forward and give it my best!
