Meet WeHo’s Michelle Graves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Graves.

Michelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I first became passionate about fashion and beauty at a real young age. When I was 8 I used to spend hours flipping through magazines while my mother cut and styled hair at a salon in Israel. One day I found a picture of a short layered bob I wanted. My mom refused to cut my long hair so I took it upon myself . Which became my first dry cut.

We moved to the states shortly thereafter. Where I started Cosmetology school in high school and assisted at some of the top hair salons in LA. Through my work at high end salons and barbershops I became an expert with all hair textures. I’ve been lucky to show case my work on different jobs in entertainment, fashion and music industry. I also assist Exclusive Agency- LA models and have a studio in West Hollywood that I take personal clients. While I’m a mother to two amazing little girls and wife to a supportive husband, enjoying every minute of it. I truly love my life!!!

Has it been a smooth road?
Going to cosmetology school in high school was very time consuming. I finished school at 3pm and had to be at cosmetology school by 3:05pm till 9:30 pm . Not having my own car and hitching rides. Luckily my school was literally down the street. During that time I had no social life. On the weekends I would work as an assistant with the rest of my time trying to finish my homework. All the hard work and struggles during the years have defiantly paid off.

What were you like growing up?
I always moved allot when I first came to the states at 2 years old, I lived in Dallas. We lived there till I was 8years old and we moved a total of at least 5 times. Then packed up and went back to Israel lived there till I was 12years old(moved twice in that time). Then my family decided to go back to the states and my dad had a friend that lived in LA and ended up here. Moved a couple times here but not too far from each other. So that taught me to know how to make friends really easily and turned me into the confident person I am today. I also have two brothers so I’ve always been a little Tomboyish.

What is your favorite childhood memory?
Being able to stay in LA (the valley) and establishing a home base with friends from junior high school that I still have today. Also going snowboarding almost everyday after school in high school was great.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m looking to have my two girls start school and having more time to spend on my career. I also wanted to establish solid roots for them that I never had so they could find some lifelong friends. Lately I’ve linked up with a great agency (exclusive artists -La models) So I’m looking forward in landing bigger jobs and establishing a following in the valley as well as Hollywood to be a little closer to home.
