Today we’d like to introduce you to Scilence.
Hi Scilence, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started out wanting to be a ghostwriter and hanging out and pitching my songs in recording studios. I had no desire to be an artist at that point, but no one gave my songs a chance. So then I said to myself, if I claim to be such a good songwriter, then I should be able to write songs for artists of all skill sets, like an artist just coming onto the scene. A good songwriter helps an artist find their sound no matter how inexperienced the talent is. And a good song can make an artist! So I made myself into sort of a Guinea pig and I made brand new songs to build myself up to an artist. I learned so much in the process. I had to trash songs because they were too technical for me just starting out. It taught me how to make songs more simple/basic but still very catchy. I was able to discover my distinctive sound that came naturally through the songwriting process.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some struggle I had at first was finding a studio to record in as an artist. I was surprised as to how many studios didn’t have a nice clean sound. Getting a professional and clean sound was important to me because I knew that would already put me ahead of the curve.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a recording artist/producer/songwriter. I am probably most known for a song called “Crush” that features Bizarre from D12. I feel very proud that I’m able to gain more momentum after that song. It really helped broaden my audience. I am working on more projects in the future with Bizarre. What sets me apart from others is probably my willingness to keep learning new things. I’m currently going to school for recording engineering. Even though I already work at a recording studio, I’m still willing to learn even more. I’m very determined and I want to get better when it comes to the art of music. Another thing that sets me apart is quality. It’s very important to have quality music videos, quality recorded songs and quality in all aspects of my career. I believe that helps people see me as a real and serious artist.
How do you define success?
I would define success as something that never stops. It’s just a never-ending ladder of goals. I don’t think you ever truly reach success until you’ve passed on and you’re done with this lifetime. Success is truly never-ending. I’ve reached success over and over as an artist, songwriter & producer. But I just set a new goal after I’ve reached the previous one.
