Life & Work with Jovahna Pozon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jovahna Pozon.

Hi Jovahna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a four-time published award-winning author, writer, poet and novelist. A celebrated author in the literary community, I first garnered acclaim for my fiery romance novel “Setting Fire to the Darkness”. The following year I released my first poetry book “Whiskey for the Wounded.” Which really pushed me into the spotlight so to speak. In total, I have written four books, the two most recent being “Passion Fruit” and “Star Dust”. A poetry book surrounding woman’s empowerment, which was dubbed as one of last year’s most prolific reads by the Ultimate Reviewer.” I have been featured in multiple magazines and New Outlets, such as the LA Tribune, The New York Times & the Ritz Herald. All my books can be found on Amazon and Barnes & Nobel.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey, although rewarding has been laborious at times. As a first-time African American female writer, it was not easy getting my foot in the door. I heard a lot of no’s before ever getting a single yes.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Writing is my absolute passion, I have written a little bit of everything from romance novels, poetry books, self-help books to stage plays and movie scripts. I love captivating my audience with the stories I tell.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
For me, it is about using my God-given talent and gifts, using them to inspire others. I don’t measure success by how much money I have made but instead by how many lives I have touched.
