Life & Work with Hadas Nuriel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hadas Nuriel.

Hi Hadas, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. Was a pro swimmer, certified bartender from the NY bartending school with lots of experience both in NYC and LA, served in the military IDF as a fighter and an operation officer. Moved to NYC, studied in three private acting schools for four years. Full-time certificate program at The Lee Strasberg Film school, Stella Adler and HB studio.

Studied psychology for two years and published my first book in the series of books all based on psychological experiments who have shown significant results. The first book is the marshmallow story based on a very famous marshmallow experiment done in the 60s and Stanford University by Professor Walter Michele. I have done book signing tour in California as well as a live interview on TV in Israel about the book. The second book is process and about to be published in 2022. I have been a teacher at four different schools in the last five years, teaching mostly Hebrew as a second language. Hebrew is my first language. I have 12 years of experience working with kids from newborns to teenagers. I have also 12 years of experience in acting, theatre, film, commercials, VO and modeling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have lived here for 14 years and I’m still not an American citizen even though I was always legal to live here on different visas, always paid my taxes as currently have a green card. But the road to that was though expensive and exhausting. In 2014, I was in the hospital with brain infection, Meningitis. And no health insurance. Was rough but I made it 🙂 So many industry people on the way were disrespectful, teachers, agents and mentors. From asking for naked pics to telling me they are pleasuring themselves while thinking of me… not what you expect from an American legend, director idol.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actress with a set of cool special skills that gets me a lot of very interesting projects. From Hand modeling for Revlon to utilizing my military service to do some cool tricks on Tenet by Christopher Nolan. Having a second language (Hebrew) got me some fun VO jobs! Being pro swimmer, swim on film 🙂 I think that my background, being ethnically ambiguous and have a cool set of special skills is what books me more work 🙂

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My nephews and nieces make me SO happy, their pure unconditional love for you is a love like no other. Their laughter charges me and gives me better perspective. My family, my husband and our new house are something I am so thankful for and so happy to come home to at the end of a hard long workday on set. So great fun for my family.
