Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruby Mountain.
Hi Ruby, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Recording Artist, Founder/CEO at Femmifesting.
I am a visionary artist whose music, visuals, and Ascension streetwear uplift and balance divine feminine energies in the world. I thrive working with sound energy and created a high-vibrational brand Femmifesting LLC out of my technical understanding of audio and traditional energy practices.
I became aware of energy by creating and performing Afghan music with my father. From him, I learned that everything has an acoustic resonance and that the mood of the room shifts depending on harmonic or dissonant tones played. We would record our rehearsals on a two-track tape machine and this is what led me to audio engineering in college and working in studios later on.
Audio engineering gave me the tools to create my first mixtape Full Moon, an exploration of music as a ritual to manifest or release things from my life in tandem with the moon phases. I wrote singles and created visuals for five full moons.
When the pandemic happened and everything shut down, I couldn’t run sound at venues or perform. Seeing the fearful and heartbreaking stories on loop in my community during this time inspired me to create beautiful, hopeful visuals as an alternative to the fear we were bombarded with.
I created and produced a music video for my songs Sunrise ( Waves EP) and Seeker (Full Moon mixtape) with the Oakland Goddess Crew under my company, Femmifesting. We brought in spiritual practices like smudging, moon phases, plant meditations, and ritual to the creative process.
Femmifesting LLC was born as a production house and apparel line. I build high-vibrational production teams, produce experiences and create intentional apparel to raise the vibration of individuals and the planet.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I unexpectedly lost my mother a few years ago and it was the biggest loss of my life. I had never experienced letting go that deeply before. I gave myself space, attended ceremonies, and spent time in nature to heal. It felt strange that I didn’t want to create much but I went with it and allowed my sadness to show itself. My spirit wanted to rest while I was shifting into a new way of living without her ongoing love and support.
While grieving my mother, I realized that I wanted to change my lifestyle from hustling and burning out to developing a creative lifestyle that was sustainable, gave me flexibility and financial support to create my music. Synchronicity led me to a scholarship for business classes for BIPOC entrepreneurs. Even though my ego showed up to question why I was prioritizing business development when my peers were prioritizing music development, I stuck with it.
With the launch of Femmifesting, I began to understand that my decision to develop my own business is allowing me to be more intentional with my time and providing me with an income stream in alignment with my music and creative process.
I’m grateful to have had mentors to support me in finding ways to build my music and creations.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I create high vibrational apparel, experiences and media that support my customers’ connection to their highest self and universal flow so that they may receive the things they desire in life. My brand supports customers’ sovereignty over their energy so that it doesn’t get pulled into negative stories or beliefs that aren’t true to their authentic selves.
I released my first collection of Ascension Streetwear in November of 2021. Ascension Streetwear consists of hoodies, crop t-shirts, and tracksuits with angel numbers, intentional sacred icons, and affirmations that activate your connection to the cosmic flow. Manifesting is often about putting in effort to meet an end goal. Femmifesting is about allowing things of your highest good to flow into your life by understanding your power and ability to co-create with the universal flow.
Femmifesting Productions exists because of my love for creating ritual spaces with friends when creating my music and music videos. Creative spaces become quantum energy fields with high vibrational possibility when the metaphysical is brought in. I like connecting brands and artists with intentional crews of professional technicians that are also astrologers, Reiki healers, plant medicine practitioners, tarot readers, channels and sound healers. When a team of professional media makers offers their technical and spiritual skills to the project a production becomes vibrationally intentional. It can become a high-vibrational offering to the collective that ripples out beyond time.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Gratitude. It’s amazing that I have the opportunity to be an artist. Not everyone gets the chance to create something for the world to experience. Expressing gratitude keeps me open to new artistic possibilities and allows me to be easefully persistent as a creator.
