Inspiring Conversations with LeKyra and Marcus Brown of Kid Fit 360

Today we’d like to introduce you to LeKyra and Marcus Brown. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Kid Fit 360 is an overall health education program teaching children and families in the areas of fitness, finance, and nutrition to create an all-around education experience. Kid Fit 360 started as a passion project virtually in 2020 at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic. We began with virtual finance workshops, virtual workouts, and virtual yoga sessions. After doing the virtual route, we knew that was not enough and we began to travel to different facilities, schools, childcare, and nonprofits to deliver the 360 messages. We want children to become prosperous adults by getting an all-around education program that would give them the tools to not just live but to thrive on the next level. Kid Fit 360 was started by husband and wife, Lekyra and Marcus Brown, but the love for children and entrepreneurship did not begin with us. Our parents both are entrepreneurs that started with impacting the youth in their select cities. Lekyra’s parents are owners of Smith Family Childcare and Marcus’ parents are owners of Ash Tree Organization.

So we can safely say entrepreneurship and the love for the next generation’s success is in our blood. Kid Fit 360 is known for our introduction to yoga as young as 3 years old for emotional regulation and our finance workshops for for ages 6-18. We love giving the youth the tools to think through different situations and control themselves no matter what scenario they are put in. We pride ourselves on being an impact to the next generation. The love and passion for fitness, finance, nutrition, and entrepreneurship is great but without expertise in these areas, the impact would not be effective. Entrepreneurship has formed and shaped our lives from childhood to adulthood. We met playing college basketball at Point University and transferred to Georgia Southern University where Lekyra received her BS in Kinesiology and Marcus received his BA in Finance. Furthering our education, Lekyra is a certified yoga teacher, nutritionist, and personal trainer and Marcus is a certified financial instructor and professional life coach. We have tried to incorporate the principles of finance literacy, physical education, and wise eating habits subtly in our everyday careers, but it just did not feel like that was living in our purpose. Our combination of ambition, passion, and individual expertise mixed so well to create Kid Fit 360.

The saying goes “reach one, teach one” and that is exactly what we want to do in our business. In 2021, we expanded from the Savannah, Ga area to Rincon, Guyton, Richmond Hill, Springfield, Hinesville and Pembroke. We were very proud that the 360 messages were reaching many of the youth in the Southeast Ga region. Receiving a lot of positive feedback and constructive criticism, we were exciting more than ever to continue changing the lives of our youth. We created our 360 Finance workbook to help families talk through their finances, short-term and long-term goals to have the vision to make their dreams a reality.

In 2022, we began the process of looking for our own facility to call the 360 Home. The process did not come easy and we ran to a few stumbling blocks with location, zoning, etc. Since we met, we have always said a plan + passion = prosperity. . It is all about perspective and willingness to act when the road gets rough. With the struggles of not knowing what you just do not know, God, faith, family, and friends are making the journey worth getting to the destination. A plan is nothing without action. Passion is nothing without guidance. Prosperity is nothing without purpose. The most difficult part is starting, staying the course, and not straying away from YOUR purpose. August 2022 was the first day of the opening of our very own 360 Home: Kid Fit 360 Childcare.

Kid Fit 360 is split into three sectors: The 360 experience, 360 Finance, and KF 360 Childcare. The 360 experience is where we come to your facility to teach yoga, different sports, and nutrition talk time. 360 Finance is virtual and in-person workshops for children and families teaching the principles of saving to invest and budgeting for a purpose, KF 360 Childcare is more than childcare teaching ages 3 and 4 about yoga, money recognition, and the core subjects needed to be successful for school-aged education.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main struggle was starting in the pandemic and trying to get in different facilities to make an impact with our mission. With the generation being extremely tech-savvy, the most difficult obstacle has been shifting their mindset to get up and get active.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The hardest part is not letting fear of the unknown to stop you from doing anything. Stay true to your calling and purpose for this life and let that drive you in your success. Money is not correlation of success when your in your purpose. Who you impact throughout the journey is the lasting effect that is bigger than individuality. The substance of the journey is who you become throughout the good times and the bad times. The destination is just that, so do not be in a rush to get to it. Build a strong support system and team to help carry you in those times when your feeling like your not enough, discouraged, or just feeling weak. If you want to go fast go alone. If you want to go far go together.
