Today we’d like to introduce you to Inna & Isabelle Kreydin.
Hi Inna & Isabelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Inna was born in Kyiv and Isabelle was American born – first generation. Alongside our journey with animal rescue and animal activism, we continue to advocate for Ukraine’s freedom and people. Most of our family still resides in Kyiv. We are proud to be Ukrainian, proud of their resilience and consistently are promoting the best ways to help/donate to Ukraine.
This all began with the love of dogs and our family dog Emma. She was a working breed with personality traits that were not the easiest to handle. Loving her exactly the way she was – grew into caring for ALL living and sentient beings.
After a tough ten years of school, Dr. Inna Kreydin, OD, moved to Los Angeles with Isabelle while she was to attend Optometry School. Volunteering for rescue after moving – opened our eyes to the horrible shelter crisis that is California, the extreme euthanasia rates, overbreeding, overcrowding, and lack of spay-neuter laws/reinforcement.
We decided to take matters into our own hands – that is when Bubbles Dog Rescue was born!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Balancing a full-time career, school, physical and mental health – whilst operating a successful rescue has most definitely not been easy. Financially as well – it is a challenge to care for so many animals that have their own medical or behavioral cases and consistently have their bills to be responsible for. In rescue – you learn something new every day. What we have learned is that there is nothing more important than one’s physical and mental health. You have to really take care of yourself in order to take care of others and to really do your best work. We have learned what self-care means for us individually. As CEO and COO, there is never a time we can be on “break” or “off”, but we have learned that it takes a village. We love our Bubbles Dog Rescue community, our team, volunteers, fosters, alumni, networkers, etc. Having this community that you can trust, rely on, fundraise with, and have shared goals with – eases the difficulty of life and rescue balance. It is imperative to work together, that is how we will make changes to these California euthanasia laws, shelter conditions, and overbreeding crisis. All while continuing to save lives! As you know, we’re big fans of Bubbles Dog Rescue. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We have saved over 300 dogs just in the last 1 YEAR, with over 250 of them in their LOVING, healthy and happy forever homes. Bubbles Dog Rescue operates all over California. However, there is a HUGE crisis in Los Angeles and its surrounding counties where shelters are euthanizing dogs at an atrociously high rate. We work to bring attention to this, to save the dogs on these lists including behavior and medical cases others are reluctant to tackle. We also rehabilitate abandoned, abused and neglected cases from all over, including Mexico, and ensure EVERY single dog gets fully healthy and into a forever home. Bubbles Dog Rescue is fully volunteer-run, and the board is made up of all vegan women that care about all sentient beings. We encourage people to treat all animals with the same respect as they would their own pets at home.
We are further unique because we do not discriminate in breed, age, or personality. All of these dogs once were failed and deserved a second chance. We purposely select fosters that supply a safe, warm and exemplary environment. Bubbles promote the dog on social media platforms and adoption websites, along with using word of mouth to find the dogs safe, happy, healthy, purrfect forever homes. What continues to set us apart – is a careful and thorough adoption process and our commitment to the dogs for LIFE. We truly care for each individual animal and are very proud to have such a warm and loving alumni community. We will always be there for our Bubbles babies. Bubbles Dog Rescue is a tax-deductible 501c3 organization and we hope after reading this, you spread the word! #adoptdon’tshop
How do you think about happiness?
People often think things like money or luxury lead to happiness, but healthy life practices in our opinion, are the key. For example, for us, it is not consuming animals – practicing veganism, practicing kindness, compassion and understanding. Being competent and genuinely helpful healthcare professionals saving dogs every single day. Connecting with others that share our morals, mindsets and passions. Especially with each other, true happiness is seeing one another smiling and sharing any experience together. Whether it is a mundane simple experience or not. We are sisters, we are best friends, and we love each other’s true genuine selves. Out of all the places we could be, together is where we would always choose.
