Inspiring Conversations with Donna Bond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Bond.

Hi Donna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After 28 years as a marketing executive in hospitality, I woke up at the top of my game very unhappy. I had just turned 44 – the age my father was when he died – and while my life and career looked really good on the surface, deep down I was very unhappy and deeply unfulfilled. On the advice of a psychic, I enrolled myself in a master’s program in Spiritual Psychology not really knowing what on earth I would do with such a degree. Especially since I was working a 60-hour a week gig that occupied most of my life. One year later, I stepped down from my role at a top marketing executive at The Ritz Carlton and began my path as a transformation consultant and spiritual life and business coach. I am now six years into a thriving practice and I just published my first book called Original Wisdom; Harness the Power of the Authentic You. I changed my entire life – from the inside out – and now I help other people do the same. It is my intention to share all that I know about how to live with more joy, purpose and fulfillment. And, it’s none of the “stuff” that we think it is.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I stepped down from my high-powered corporate role, I hung out a shingle as a marketing consultant. I had a lot of experience and a lot of contacts in the industry. This was a great bridge for me, walking me gently onto the path of coaching. One year after I stepped down and just as my marketing consultancy was taking off, I got a triple negative breast cancer diagnosis five days before my 47th birthday. While I had slowed down considerably since I left corporate-land now meditating daily, exercising regularly and eating out of the Vitamix – the universe wanted to make sure I was paying attention and was asking me to change my ways. I was leaning more fully into the truth that I am a Spiritual Being on a human adventure. And so is everyone else. During my breast cancer journey (and while I was still pursuing my master’s in Spiritual Psychology) I discovered how horrible I was to myself. I became aware of how hard I was on myself and how unforgiving and unrelenting my critical inner voice was. It was during this time that I discovered I didn’t really love myself. I also realized that nothing outside of me was going to fill this void. No career, no man, no amount of money. It was during this time I began to honor and revere the human experience I was having.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Today, I am a Soul-Centered catalyst for personal transformation. I believe when we do the work individually to trust our higher self and love our human self, the ripple effect changes the world. To this end, I serve in the role of a personal transformation consultant, Spiritual mentor, and professional life and business coach, serving hundreds of clients across the globe to experience an empowered and more loving existence in the physical world. I’m a graduate of the University of Santa Monica where I earned a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health and Healing and carry a professional coaching certification. My Mission is to ignite your light, revealing your original-wisdom to empower your highest self on your human adventure. Twice a year, I offer a women’s retreat Discover the Authentic You, Loving Your Sweet Self. I have a monthly membership called Igniting Your Light where we have a monthly Soul Gathering, I offer a masterclass called Empower the Authentic You and I lead private one on one transformational coaching journeys.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My professors at The University of Santa Monica Dr’s Ron and Mary Hulnick and so many other amazing spiritual teachers, coaches and my incredible and sweet husband, artist Paul Bond. My coach, Dr. Robert Holden, PH. D author of Success Intelligence and Shift Happens! wrote the foreword for my new book Original Wisdom; Harness the Power of the Authentic You. He has supported me in so many ways to launch my book and continue to demonstrate loving leadership out in the world. My husband stood by my side as I walked away from a multiple six-figure career, security and a lot of prestige in the physical world. Without his belief in me and support of the work I wanted to do in the world, I wouldn’t have achieved the success I am enjoying today. Witnessing him living on his purpose with the work he does in the world is what inspired me the most to want to make a greater contribution to the world.
