Hidden Gems: Meet Morgan King

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan King.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am originally from a very small town in Wisconsin (only 2,000 people) and was led after college to California almost nine years ago to pursue my dreams in marketing for beauty brands. After a career that most would deem ‘successful’ I felt unfulfilled and came to the crossroads that we often do in life where we ask, ‘there has to be more to life than this.’ Fast forward a few years where I experienced a number of life changes that shifted my perspective on so many things, some of the most important included: who I wanted to be and what was important to me, This led me to my current career in residential real estate in La Jolla, California, and my passion project of hosting my podcast, ‘Connect Back In’. Although we never reach a ‘there’ in life, I feel more aligned than ever and blessed for all the goodness that has been brought to me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anyone experiences a smooth road in life, as that was never the goal for us in the first place. The challenges we face throughout our lives allow us to grow into the version of ourselves that we’re meant to be. I think all ‘struggles’ are relative dependent on what you’ve gone through thus far in your life, so mine are no different than anyone else’s. And not to sound too ‘Tony Robbins’ (although I love him), I am also very vulnerable and open with people about what I’ve gone through in my past to show them that you are not a victim of your circumstances, and you have the power to overcome whatever comes your way. A few things that come to mind is losing my father-in-law unexpectedly, then my husband walking out on me, and then my Dad crossing almost two years ago. These were very pivotal moments in my life that happened within a relatively short period of time, however, they have grown me into the version of Morgan that I am proud to be today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a residential realtor based out of La Jolla, California, where I serve San Diego and the surrounding areas. I can speak from experience when I say there are a lot of great Realtors in San Diego, so it is truly dependent on who you connect with the most and can fully trust through such an emotional process. My skill sets that I think contribute to a successful transaction are my strong negotiation skills, I am really organized, I have a background in marketing, and most importantly, I sincerely care about my clients and invest myself fully in their purchase or sale. I use the same mindset tactics I practice daily to support them through each step of the way, and with a focus on relationship building, we become friends for the long haul.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
That even if you can’t see it, or things aren’t going the way you planned, that everything is always working out for you and the highest good of all. When you come from this thought process, you can let go of trying to control life and just allow and enjoy the process to unfold.
