Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Peters.

Hi Matthew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I was working in San Francisco for the business that pioneered the online reputation management sector, building software for their offshore contractors, I realized, “Hey, the customer should have this.” To me, it should have been in their hands instead of having to pay a huge sum to a company. In other words, we built our business around a do-it-yourself reputation management solution. However, people were constantly lamenting that they lacked time to implement the software themselves and instead wanted someone else to take care of them. So we then went on to offer professional services and thus, Search Manipulator was formed by a small team of computer engineers.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My employment experience taught me a valuable lesson. When I needed software developed, I hired a young man who was both talented and driven. Problem was, he took advantage of his knowledge to develop a program that gave the impression that he was working when, in fact, he was not. By being compensated for his bogus labor, he managed to steal a substantial sum of money. For a brief moment, the event tainted my opinion of the industry; nevertheless, I chose to learn from it, and I am now much more selective in who I hire and how I handle my business as a result.
