Hidden Gems: Meet Marla Stone of I-Deal-Lifestyle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marla Stone.

Hi Marla, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a former psychotherapist /social worker of 17 years and turned professional organizer in 2010. My passion for helping people and a love for organized space, design, and Feng Shui led me into Professional Organizing. At I-Deal-Lifestyle Inc, we realize the importance of clearing emotional clutter prior to designing and organizing residential and corporate spaces.

Our design and space planning skills are valuable for homeowners and businesses because we understand human nature. My BA in Psychology and Masters in Social Work along with a background in C-Level and management productivity, communication, and process training allows my staff and me to help people and companies organize their space, minds, and emotions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No road is smooth, ever. The bumps and cracks in any path keep us all on our toes. Managing over 60 plus contractors, working with clients who over-accumulate, and running a corporation is challenging. I love the work through; I love the camaraderie of working with talented people and helping clients who are blocked from understanding what they love about their space. We work with everyone, from people with hoarding challenges to empty nesters. These people may have lost a loved one or have been through trauma. We work on organizing businesses, CEOs, Management Level staff, and Employees to help them get and remain emotionally and mentally clear. We encourage them to see their space’s potential, and increase productivity 10-fold. The best part of our strategy is the solutions in overcoming perpetual disorganization, understanding needs, wants, and capabilities. We help with indecisiveness, and being out of touch with inner feelings. Our services include coaching people to change their language to become more productive, decisive, and aware of negative feelings, healthily processing them, and moving forward.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I-Deal-Lifestyle Inc is a declutter, design and development company. We declutter corporate and residential spaces. We provide space planning and design services based on “Good Energy” practices. Our unique blend of creative and aesthetically pleasing designs and functionality leads to an easier lifestyle. I also wrote a book called The Clutter Remedy: A Guide To Getting Organized For Those Who Love Their Stuff. In the book, I share stories of Corporate and Residential clutter / life / work chaos and how to resolve space challenges.

We teach owners, CEOs, and staff how to live and work in better environments. For small and large businesses, our productivity improvement, de-escalating conflict, and employee and customer service enhancement program “Declutter Your Strategy” uplifts companies from mediocre to superb.

Our brand is unique since we confront the norm of what “neat” means. For us, neatness is not good enough. We strive to “get rid of the box” instead of “thinking outside of a box.” Why would someone want to think with a box in their way? For us, neat means everything is categorized, finely tuned, and has a home. Getting rid of the box means becoming more innovative every minute of the day. It’s not only about eliminating physical clutter, it’s about increased awareness of the moment-to-moment processes of living and working in a highly organized space, where energy and flow support greatness.

I personally am also a REALTOR® DRE 01823712 with Beverly & Co. DRE 02078273

What were you like growing up?
There were always bullies in elementary, junior high, and high school, although I had my inner circle support of great friends that I still have. I was a soft person with a lot of compassion, yet I also spoke my mind and had a wise-old woman attitude. The bullies didn’t like my “shoot from the hip” attitude. I was also an actress in every play that the schools put on. I was dramatic, funny, and sometimes all over with creativity and writing poetry mostly that stood up to the wrongs of society. During my childhood, I wrote anti-war poems and poems about injustice. I knew at a young age that racism, fighting, abuse, and poverty were solvable with brighter minds and fewer politics. I was the go-to when friends had difficult decisions or life challenges. I loved tennis, hanging out with friends, and writing versus math.
