Today we’d like to introduce you to Letizia Silvestri.
Hi Letizia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
To give some background, I have worked in the fast-paced luxury automotive industry for nearly 20 years planning high-end events for brands like Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lucid, Bugatti, Pirelli, McLaren, and Lamborghini. Although working in this industry allowed me to utilize my creativity and planning skills, it often left me feeling overworked, burnt out, and fatigued. In an attempt to manage the mental and physical side effects from working in such a demanding field, I started to explore the world of sound healing along with methods of relaxation. Finding that it significantly helped lower my stress levels while also increasing my creativity and productivity at work, I began receiving sound healing sessions on a weekly basis.
When the pandemic was at its height, I decided to adopt my beloved dog, Zen. Zen was a rescue dog with a troubled past riddled with abuse and neglect. He suffered from a lot of anxiety and fear which caused many troublesome behavioral issues. After trying several different dog trainers and consulting with an animal behavioralist, the two options I was given were either to put him down or give him doggy Xanax on a regular basis. However, neither of these options sounded like real option to me as I am much more into natural and holistic remedies. In hopes to calm him down and relieve his anxiety, I decided to get myself a set of singing bowls and I introduced Zen to the world of sound healing. After seeing the incredibly positive soothing effect it had on his behavior by practicing daily (both mornings and evenings), I then became a certified sound healer and started to share the healing benefits of sound with my close community of friends and family.
Although sound healing started out as only a hobby for me, once I discovered the multitude of healing effects it had on both myself and Zen, and I had time to reflect on my true purpose during the pandemic, I decided I wanted to share the power of sound healing with the world. I wanted to practice sound healing in a way that complemented my eye for design, love for precise planning, and my organizational skills. My goal was to use my varied talents and expertise to give busy professionals and animal rescue parents the tools to live better and feel better. From this goal, Altha was born.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As with almost any entrepreneur story, it has not been an easy road. As my background is in luxury automotive experiential marketing, pivoting to sound healing was a completely different space and there is a lot of self-doubts that comes with that. I wondered, can I really do what I love and still make a living out of it? Additionally, when sharing my vision with other successful individuals who knew me from my career in event planning, I was often met with little support, and many thought I was crazy for letting go of a career where I was labeled to be in a league on my own and in many ways a benchmark of excellence. However, my vision has never been clearer; the world needs collective healing more than it needs more luxurious over-the-top events.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Altha?
Altha represents my journey in stepping into my true purpose; to share the medicine of sound with individuals and organizations alike. Meaning “high & elevated” in Latin and “healing & wholesome” in Old Greek, Altha was created with the objective of creating a space where we can help others connect with their higher selves in order to better heal themselves.
We are a team of healers dedicated to providing a modern approach to the ancient world of sound healing. Combining our experience in high-end corporate events and our deep interest in wellness, it is our passion to share the benefits of sound healing and other healing modalities in the most welcoming and relaxing way.
Presenting sound healing in a way that is digestible to those who may do not seek it out is what we do best here at Altha and is why even very traditional businesses trust us with creating corporate wellness programs. Alternative forms of healing such as sound healing can feel too free-spirited for many individuals and most companies, but our history in the corporate world combined with our attention to detail enables us to share the power of sound medicine and other healing methods such as movement meditation, reiki, tapping, and more with a much wider audience.
We also developed a bespoke corporate program in partnership with board-certified hypnotherapist Brice Le Roux that includes a series of four of our signature Hypno-Sound Bath™ sessions – each geared toward a different wellness goal.
We also host retreats in California and internationally for private groups as well as for corporate team-building initiatives.
Additionally, we also specialize in sound healing for rescue dogs we are thrilled to offer mentoring programs for pet parents that want to introduce animal sound healing to their beloved pups as well as offer 1-on-1 at-home sessions for fearful or anxious animals that wouldn’t thrive in a group setting.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My authenticity has benefited me greatly in my success – I always make sure that I am practicing what I preach in all aspects of my professional and personal life. My resilience has also allowed to continue to be an entrepreneur; although the road is not always clear I do my best to trust the process and never let go of my vision.
