Hi Anastasiia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a lifestyle blogger and Creative Director of ADME Marketing Agency and The agency has been actively developing in New York since 2016, working both with the largest players on the market and developing startups and small brands. The company deals with a large list of tasks from social media marketing and PR to performance marketing. However, most of the work is in the field of creativity, development of communication strategies, creative ideas and concepts.
I personally oversee a team of photographers, graphic designers, and social media managers. I work closely with marketers, researchers, and our PR team to define the character and soul of each of our client’s brands based on their company values and what they care about. Then I ensure that we express that character through everything we do for them: marketing strategy, social media, etc.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Apart from the first struggle of having to adjust to a new market when I moved to NYC and started pursuing my career, I’m facing a constant struggle of having my mind switch from the creative to the business side.
I always feel excitement and anxiety whenever I’m pushing myself. To me, that is the pure essence of creativity. If I want to be creative or try something new, I have to push out against the edge of what I’m comfortable with. Unique ideas are often those furthest from the beginning point. Being willing to take the sometimes journey of creativity demands that you let go of your preconceived notions and be ready to go to places you have not explored before. However, part of my job as Creative Director is having a clear vision of where the agency is headed, what our goals are, and how to reach them. So basically, I have to be both creative and business-oriented.
Also, managing a team of creatives can be challenging. Everyone on the team is unique, and my main job is to ensure they’re not wasting their potential and doing what they love most productively.
I try to stay above the fray and not micromanage. I’m more focused on directing. I have a vision, and I need to keep the path we’re headed clearly seen.
