Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Pal.
Hi Victoria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My inspiration to help others improve their health started at a very young age for me. My parents sold their wedding rings for one-way tickets to the US from Romania while my mother was pregnant with my twin brother and I. My mother gave up everything to give us the opportunity to become first generation Americans.
Growing up as first generation Americans wasn’t without challenges. We were very poor and did not speak English until I started going to grade school. My mother worked very hard 15hr shifts everyday and had to deal with the problems that arose due to my fathers sever alcoholism. In an attempt to keep our family of five fed and to manage being married to an abusive alcoholic, she found comfort in food. At her heaviest, she weighed 350lbs (at 5’1) which broke my heart even as a child. My mother has always been my hero. I have watched her health steadily decline as a result. My twin brother was 400+ lbs at his heaviest and I watched kids bully him at school and the impact it had on his confidence as a teen.
For these reasons, I understand the impact having a poor relationship to food to one’s overall health and psyche. I wanted to help my family become healthier. I started to dive deep into learning everything I could about nutrition, biology, trauma, metabolism and exercise. I became a fitness trainer at age 21 (I’m currently 37) and made it my life’s work to help teach people how to become the healthiest versions of themselves and I have learned so much from every client I have ever worked with. Every person incredibly unique and there is no “one track” solution to getting people to their best selves. I do extensive research if I do not have the answers on how to help a client with a chronic condition, injury or inability to get to a goal and help them find holistic solutions. I have learned so much about how our bodies work over the past 16 years and I am hungry to continue to learn more!
I have been fortunate to work all over the world with various kinds of people! I spent 2 years in the Middle East working for royalty and traveling all over the world. I’ve worked with professional athletes, big name celebrities, actors, children, elderly and the disabled. I love knowing that the education and service o provide my clientele, improves the quality of and also extends their lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think that when you do what fascinates you and what you love for work, that it never really feels like a struggle. I have been very fortunate with the success of my LA-based, In person business as well as my online platform.
We’ve been impressed with Haute Wellness INC., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Haute Wellness INC. Is a health coaching business. I do the “detective work” to unlock each client’s potential via corrective exercise, nutrition, lifestyle and holistic health interventions. I work with individuals in~person as well as online. I will also be releasing a Fitness App by the end of 2022!!
What sets me apart from other trainers/health coaches is that I consider myself a lifelong student and I pride myself on finding the answers to people’s health problems if I don’t know how to help them. I also have an incredibly strong intuition when it comes to the body. I don’t just take my clients through workouts mindlessly, I TEACH them how to feel, use and move their bodies in the proper way. The byproduct of this is a body that is a stronger, leaner and healed from pain/injuries and movement distortions.
What I want your readers to know is what I learned during covid! You do not NEED a gym to become fit and healthy. My business (like many) largely moved online during the pandemic and my online clients saw tremendous success!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Be humble and never fool yourself into thinking that you know everything or are “the best”. I am a lifelong student of health/wellness and I consider every scientist, researcher, health podcaster and client a mentor/ teacher. There is a lesson in every interaction you have with another human if your eyes, ears and heart are open.
