Exploring Life & Business with Kelley Raleigh of KINDbrain Body & Brain Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelley Raleigh.

Hi Kelley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was 15, I knew I wanted to live in LA. Not to be in Hollywood, but for the beach, the creativity and my spiritual community that I knew was here, even though I had no idea what that meant at the time.

I grew up in the midwest with a pretty average childhood where I attended a catholic school, which meant a lot of rules. I realized pretty quickly that I cannot just go with the crowd or do what everyone else is doing because we are “supposed to”. I started figuring out what my own path was. I asked a lot of questions. I wanted to know that there was more to life than what we were doing. I knew my path was for me and many people wouldn’t understand it.

I moved to NYC when I was 19 and really started seeing different kinds of people and different ways to live. I wanted to understand how people got to where they were in life, if they made certain decisions or did they just fall into their lives without using any real thought or action.

In college, I was drawn to work with children and teens. I wanted to see if there was any difference I could make in their lives by discussing goals and intentions or having a mentor. So my professional journey began…I discovered that yes, generational traumas are real, but an individual can definitely heal those wounds which has a ripple effect for the entire family. They just need to be supported to do the work. That was the sweet spot I wanted to work in.

I moved to LA in 2003 and within a year found my spiritual community. I knew it was the journey for me. I knew that I would be pushing myself to levels I was not aware of consciously when I was younger and I would be able to learn different healing modalities to support children and families.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road….well, is any road smooth? Life happens. Things come up and as long as I am clear to keep moving forward, my life works out perfectly for me. I see the hiccups that come forward as a way to learn, modify or clear a pattern because they are always FOR ME. It is not always the easiest, but I always love when I get on the other side of things. I have experienced loss and change over the years. It usually strengthened my spiritual connection and made me go deeper into an understanding of myself. That is cliche to say, but it is true.

To answer this specifically, however, my husband of 16 years and dog of 13 years died in May. Even though it has been the most traumatic of all the things I have gone through, I have also had so many blessings come out of it, one of which is stretching myself beyond anything I could have imagined to continue to stay present and in alignment with my intentions. I wouldn’t say that I am completely on the other side of things, but I am living my life with an open heart and able to support my son fully as he deals with this trauma himself. I know I signed up for that in this lifetime. I know I am still connected to both of them and I know that living my life to the fullest honors what we had all of those years.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about KINDbrain Body & Brain Spa?
I have worked with children and families for over two decades. I produced, facilitated and created local and international programs and was able to be very clear and focused. My main objective when working with clients was supporting families with healthy communication, leadership for teens and intentionally cultivating their lives.

When I had my son, I knew I wanted to stay home with him through his early childhood. So here I was in a full mom space, which I loved, but wanted to do it from a more linear and non foggy place. After three years of mom life, a friend shared a neurofeedback machine with me that she loved doing. After the first session, I knew this was a game-changer for me. My sense of self came back. Ideas were flowing again and felt like I could come out of the mom brain I had been in for so long.

The neurofeedback machine is called Neuroptimal and it is passive, dynamical and does not manipulate the brain in any way. It simply shows the brain what it is doing in real-time and the brain chooses to organize and create healthier patterns. Within a couple of months (and doing multiple sessions) I eventually bought my own Neuroptimal and knew this would be so valuable for clients I had worked with. It was a modality that helped me to let go of patterns that I had been running for years, supported me going deeper in my understanding of myself and my meditation and now I was coming from a more neutral place while dealing with the world. I personally have been doing Neuroptimal for over two years now. I can say that in addition to my spiritual practice, doing the neurofeedback and organically training my brain to move out of fight or flight sooner rather than later has kept me high functioning and very present through this breathtakingly personal time.

I have had my business for over two years. I see private clients and have since expanded to be a Body & Brain Spa with an infrared sauna, red light therapy and a second Neuroptimal machine that people can rent and use in the comfort of their own home.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Mental and metabolic health has been in steady decline for years but definitely has been exponentially worse after March 2020. Most people do not know how to handle their trauma, projections, upsets and stress which takes a toll on relationships and their bodies. I have created a space where they are supported, given daily usable tools and can get back into contact with their intuition. In addition to that, they are organically organizing their brain and healing gracefully. With the red light therapy, people can heal injuries faster, energize their cells and mitochondria and rebuild their collagen. And lastly, the infrared sauna detoxes the heavy metals and chemicals that are stuck in our bodies. Ultimately, it is a private space where people get to focus on themselves, be quiet and reflect and start working with their intuitions to cultivate the life they really want.

People are seeking these things out, realizing that the old ways of living are not supporting genuine health or inspiring relationships. Everything I offer is for everyone regardless of your starting point.
