Today we’d like to introduce you to Croyce Allen.
Hi Croyce, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Since I was a kid, I’ve always inspired to work in community building capacity with the youth. I’ve also been driven, my first love to be a director and videographer in the tv and film production and also to be a Youth Advocate and a Leader for my community.
So at the age of 12, I started my non-profit where I inspire and develop young people by promoting personal transformation, growth and self-worth. I’ve also had the opportunity to work in the industry as a PA on Tv Shows and also got to learn and develop my craft as a Live Technical Director and Camera Operator in the Media Services Department at West Angeles Church.
I was bullied a lot when I was in elementary, middle, and at the beginning of high school. And I feel like that encouraged me to start my own organization so that I can help the youth and let them know that they are not alone. I encourage the youth to have a voice so that they can make their school and community a better place.
I am working hard every day to build my work ethic and all of the above.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, I’ve had struggles with self-love, self-doubt and depression. Throughout these past couple of years, I have learned to focus and love myself. I have a strong team that supports me and we always manage to work it out.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Youth Destined For Greatness formally known as Ambassador Children Of Absolutes is a 501 (C) non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and develop young people by promoting personal transformation, growth and self-worth.
We encourage kids, teens and young adults to believe in themselves and value service to others. YDG strives to support the youth in pursuing their own intrinsic motivations while being a champion of the same for the next generation of leaders in a world that tries to dictate others. Our vision is Excellence, Education and Empowerment.
YDG will be putting on community outreach events such as Thanksgiving & Christmas Food Drives, Youth Retreats & Summits, along with our well-known Back To School Bash “Backpack Giveaway” that we do annually. YDG will also be producing video content which will give youth and young adults a platform to use their voices and to express themselves unapologetically. Croyce Allen and team are currently in production for their Podcast “Steppin Into The Group-Chat” and mini-series “Young, Gifted & Black”.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey in life is not compare myself to other people. I see my other friends succeeding and I thought to myself when is it going to be my time. But that just means that God is telling me that right now is not my time. I’m still learning and growing in my craft, and that my time is coming but just not right now.
