Today we’d like to introduce you to Yunginky Calhoun.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a child rapper and I been rapping for over a year now. I really enjoy making music for the people and I love when people listen to my songs and listen to the meaning in my songs each song has a meaning and the meaning is powerful. My first single I come out with was friends forever this song talks about the importance of friends and how you should not lose them quickly and friends should always stick together.
My next single I wrote was friends forever remix; this single pretty much talks about the same thing but my 3rd song I have come out with was “JUSTICE” this song talks about violent and ignorant and how people is not equal and police brutality I think this was my most powerful song ever. In august of 2020, I come out with my first Ep called DREAM BIG this ep has six amazing songs this ep tells you how you should not give up and if you want something GET IT because everyone should dream big. I started making my first couple of songs and even my whole ep on my brother’s phone we edited the song and made a beat later on in August, we got equipment for our music from our uncle he is a dj and I really wanted to thank him a lot we’ve hot microphone, microphone stand, mac, desk, speakers, headphones, keyboard and mouse and mouse pad.
After we had all of that amazing equipment on November 19, 2020, I have released a single called “life” my best friend was in the song his name Terrell this song talks about the importance of life and being kind to others. Later on, I released another ep called special days; this was really a Christmas ep and this ep just talks about Christmas is an amazing holiday and how we should celebrate and being with our loved ones. A couple of days after we released our new year’s ep that had five songs and this ep talks about how we are going to another generation and evolution or life and another year and how we all made it. After our new year ep we will keep making music and making beats for the world to hear and listen to thanks for reading.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has not been a smooth road sometimes my brother had a hard time with the beat and the adlibs and I had to practice sometimes all night until I got it right. But other than that, everything else was pretty easy.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a child rapper and I specialize in rapping and song-writing. I am also known as a child rapper and song-writer but maybe later a producer.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Good luck is played in my life and career.
