Today we’d like to introduce you to Siani Davis.
Hi Siani, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am the creator and CEO of Unapologeticallybabes. I am an optimistic certified lover girl that enjoys growing in my femininity and dream girl. I’ve always been an ambitious, resilient and ahead of my time individual which has allowed me to become who I am today. Before I got into the self-help journey fashion was my first love and still is. I always wanted to become my own boss and even own a boutique first but I chose a different career for now until figure out how to combine both… stay tuned!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have mixed feelings! I’d say it has been a smooth road because I know where I see my brand and its full potential and the impact I want to provide to our sisterhood. So I’m always thinking ahead and how I can grow. Plus the positive feedback I am getting now just from being a small brand keeps me going! Then to the flip side to that, it hasn’t been a smooth road because sometimes I don’t fully put as much work as I should into making sure my goals are met for the brand. Like, posting content every day and just being consistent. So as I mentioned my brand is based off self-discovery, and even while providing my testimony I am still on my journey as well to being that “dream girl” I aspire to be! However, daily I tell myself everyone’s story is different and as long as you apply yourself I will get there and be grateful for where I am.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I remember talking to a male friend at the time because I had just recently gone through a breakup and he was just making simple conversation and asking how’d I been and how I was dealing with everything after the breakup and everyday challenges in life we don’t often talk about. During that conversation, I shared with him after everything I went through and something in me felt like my testimony could help others. When I told him what I wanted to do I simply ended with and I’m going to name it “Unapologeticallybabes” which I hadn’t thought about until that day, the words literally just rolled off my tongue. It came to me naturally. Plus, I’ve always been the go-to friend or family member for advice no matter the topic at hand. I feel like they come to me because I would give my authentic and my unbiased opinion regardless of the title we shared. I started the brand because I want to help women. I want to create a space where women feel comfortable and transparent about things we go through on a daily basis whether it’s romance, with family, friends, or workspaces, and are not afraid to talk about them.
My overall goal is to become a sisterhood in self-improvement! I am most proud of myself honestly. Before my brand came to life I had so many ideas of a career or side hustle I wanted to achieve but never put any actions towards my ideas that came to mind. However, when it came to Unapologeticallybabes I actually did it and I am continuing to do so. Not to sound cliche, but it almost feels like my calling, as if it’s meant to be and it just feels right. What sets me apart from others is that I am not afraid to talk anything I’ve ever experienced, it’s so weird because I am like an open book but I have to feel safe enough to open up to you. And I think that comes from not having these safe spaces around me before to do so. Like we see so many brands curated around self-care but not everyone talks about what they had to experience to get there. And I think that’s what sparks a good conversation; having something you both can relate too.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The role luck has played into my life and business is that I continue to think positive and I believe that everything I am supposed to have is already mine. To me, “luck” good or bad is simply a mindset. If you think positive then God or the universe which your beliefs are will bless you with what you’re supposed to have and if it doesn’t happen then that’s another blessing because you can’t miss out on something you never had or was never yours!
